the owner of this club ( Pat Laboone ) and who is supposedly a shotgunning instructor is short tempered and doesnt instruct his students properly. I think he has a problem in communication and understanding where his students needs improvement. the method he devoted a whole DVD for( and he sells the DVD which is overpriced anyways) in which he stated that the method doesnt have a name is actually the lineage of another famous method called the instinctive shooting described by Robert Churchill in his book game shooting, so the owner of this club is not the pioneer of this shooting method, and it is copied from instinctive shooting described by Churchill. Furthermore, he made so many adjustments to our guns with extra padding to the stocks and else and its funny that whenever we shot somewhere else , people knew right away that he was the one who did these adjustment without even mentioning his name, as if it seems he pads and cuts any gun stock he encounters . Fortunately, since then we had our guns fitted by someone else who removed all the non sense Laboone applied to our guns and the guns are shooting better as a result. for an instructor he should be open to his students suggestions about what details in their shooting they would like to improve and areas to focus on, rather than force them to do certain presentations for the clay targets that they dont feel they need to focus on and when the students brought that to his attention that they want to focus on certain target presentations, he got annoyed and seems to lose focus during the rest of the class. it is unfortunate that this instructor is the only one in Duluth, and we wont consider going again to take lessons with this instructor, we are looking somewhere else. if you are looking for a down to earth , understanding instructor, do yourself a favor and look somewhere else, and thats what we are going to do .
