We are so grateful for Dan! We were in over our heads with training our puppy. We hired CoastalK9 for training our sweet pup. People are genuinely shocked when they meet our 7 month old Doodle/Setter mix. He is so calm, obedient and well behaved after going through Dan’s program. Last year during T-Ball season, we noticed a beautiful golden retriever at the field who was calm, patient, and incredibly well-behaved — just sitting quietly and watching the kids play. That moment inspired us to get a golden retriever of our own! Fast forward to this summer: we brought home Bodhi, our sweet (and very big!) golden retriever puppy. Knowing he was going to grow into a large, strong dog, we wanted to start training early and do it right — so we reached out to Dan at Coastal K-9. Dan began working with Bodhi when he was just 8 weeks old, starting with the puppy pack. He helped us master the basics quickly and effectively, all while being incredibly patient with Bodhi’s classic “golden retriever” personality and frequent nap breaks. Dan even customized our sessions into shorter 30-minute blocks to fit Bodhi’s pace — something we really appreciated as new puppy owners. As Bodhi grew, Dan continued to guide us through each phase, adjusting our training and introducing new environments — from our home, to local parks, to sessions with other dogs at his place. His hands-on, adaptable approach helped Bodhi develop into a well-mannered, confident, and respectful dog. Now, we can proudly bring Bodhi back to the ball field — calm, friendly, and perfectly behaved — just like the dog that first inspired us.
