Heather, along with the wider Coastal Pines K9 team, has been instrumental in both my dog’s behavioral development and in deepening my own understanding of effective training principles. Each week, she delivers targeted confidence-building exercises tailored specifically to my dog’s temperament and individual challenges. These sessions aren’t just about repetition — they’re thoughtfully designed to build resilience, encourage independent problem-solving, and reduce anxiety in novel environments. The progress has been remarkable: my dog is not only more self-assured but also increasingly focused, responsive, and eager to engage. What truly distinguishes Heather is her skill in coaching the human side of the leash. She clearly articulates the rationale behind each technique and adapts her explanations to ensure clarity and long-term retention. Cheyanne, Tim and everyone are amazing to work with :-) My 2 Springer Spaniels love them too. We did board and train for 3 weeks for our 1 year old boy and at home training for both of them (and us!). Our boy was not very good at listening, and he would fight with our girl Springer (2 years old) Now they get along much better, and they both listen. They are collar, muzzle and leash trained. Both never used leashes as they have acres and acres to run and hunt birds and squirrels. Now everyone has skills and manners for when people come to visit and when they meet new people/dogs. Def will be coming to them for refreshers and boarding if we need to! 10/10

Tom, the owner, and everyone who works at Coastal Pines are 100% the Most caring human beings you will find! My puppy was very shy and they have brought her totally out of her shell with their enrichment program.When I would pull up there Cookie will drag me into the place, executer to be there. Plus I was ill and they have been boarding and doing enrichment with both my dogs and sending me photos and video while I was in hospital. My pups look so happy and I am not sure they will want to come home , lol. I know I never have to worry when they are at Coastal Pines. I highly recommend them to everyone!

We sent both of our pups (11 mos and 7 mos) together and the results were amazing. Equally important as the training for the dogs is the education for us as dog owners. Heather and Tom explained the dynamics between the dogs and realizing that one was gaining all of their confidence from the other taught us a lot about our approach to raising them. I highly recommend Coastal K9, they truly mean it when they say it’s a relationship long after the training is done. I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to them with any questions.
