Excellent positive dog training center! I am currently taking Pamela Leland's Advanced Puppy class with my 5-month old pup. The class is fun and super helpful. I appreciate how Pamela explains things very well - that helps me better understand dog behavior and why we train certain ways to get results. Class sizes are small and Pam manages them expertly so that everyone gets individual attention. She also follows up with videos and suggestions between classes that I have found great reinforcement. Previously I have taken classes from the other CSDTC instructors - Kathy Stabler, Shelly Bergstraser and Sara Karl; all are also experts who similarly use multiple modalities to ensure each student-dog team "gets it" and progresses. Having taken dog training classes at multiple Colorado facilities under many trainers over many years, I highly recommend Colorado Springs Dog Training Center.

During this past year, Ms, Leland went out of her way to meet the needs of each of her clients individually. She conducted zoom classes for those of us who could benefit from that platform. We were able to complete the requirements for multiple levels of AKC Trick Dog titles -- which was fun and encouraging at a time when classes could not meet in person. For folks who needed hands-on training for behavior problems with their dogs, Ms. Leland took each dog for a personal session. In only 20 minutes of training, Ms. Leland taught our dog to back up three body lengths -- a behavior she has maintained for nearly a year! Ms. Leland has also provided us with dozens of videos demonstrating ways in which she and others have approached training behaviors sequentially. These videos have been invaluable while we were required to stay at home. I saw a Google review that complained that Ms. Leland hadn't returned a call. If someone found this not to be so -- then perhaps a glitch in transmission occurred. She always returns calls, texts and emails. Ms. Leland gives us her entire attention when she's working with our dog. We are the ones she's training -- she watches for timing, rhythm of positive response and reward, body language, verbal cues -- we could go on and on....She's an amazing teacher/trainer! We are blessed to work with her.

I really hate to be the only bad review but this needs to be addressed. I was super excited after reading about this facility both on their website and from google reviews. They were one of the only dog training facilities without a bad review, until now of course. I wanted to have my newly adopted dog trained here so I called for more information and left a message with my info. I waited 48 hrs for a call back and never received one. So I waited another 24hrs and called again. I left another message with yet again no response other than an auto text message that I received shortly after calling that stated “Sorry cant talk right now”. I waited another 48 hrs and called again then received the same auto text reply as the last time. I replied to the auto text that day with no response in another 24 hours. I would really just love for someone to get back to me. All I want is to give you my money and have my dog trained. What am I supposed to think now if you’re not even able to return info about a basic inquiry of your businesses? Am I missing something here? Theres no notice on the website of the facility shutting down and it appears to still be operating and offering classes with covid restrictions. I run my own small business and personally find it imperative to my revenue that I reply back to potential customers within a reasonable time period of 24-48 hours. I suppose attaining new customers and upholding their image for potential clients isnt something they are interested in.
