Positive reinforcement first—food, play, enrichment—then fair boundaries and interrupters as needed. For behavior cases, we layer in counter-conditioning, desensitization, and stress-management protocols.
What is your policy on refunds or guarantees for your training services?
Your dog's behavior is extremely complex and guaranteeing results is unethical. Any trainer who gives you a guarantee of specific results is giving you a red flag, not peace of mind.
Guaranteeing specific results usually means they are coercing your dog into complying or addressing symptoms of behaviors versus addressing underlying needs and emotions. This is usually done by force, fear, or quick fixes that don’t last. That’s not how we operate.

Group Classes are only available to current or former Command Canine clients who have completed a Private Lesson Package or Board & Train Program. This ensures every dog has the foundation to succeed.

We’re also the training team behind the Keeper & Kin Project—the only program in North America specializing in the rehabilitation of former research beagles. These dogs have never had a name, only a number. They’ve never touched grass or lived in a home, and their adopters need more than good intentions—they need real coaching and expert support. Can I see my dog while they're at the board and train?
You’re always welcome to see your dog, but we strongly recommend waiting until the program is complete. Dogs are creatures of habit, and seeing you mid-training can make them sad when you leave again. That may disrupt the new routines we’re building and set progress back a few days.
Don’t worry, you won’t feel out of the loop! You’ll get regular updates, pictures, videos, and messages from your trainer every day!
Will my dog be placed in a kennel during a board and train session?
Not here! Our trainers only work with 2-3 dogs at a time in their home, so your dog gets TONS of training, and gets to spend time as they usually would in your home; resting, playing, cuddling, etc!
Will my dog think I abandoned them if I do a board and train program?
It’s totally normal to worry about this but rest assured, your dog won’t feel abandoned. They may miss you a bit the first day or two, but dogs are incredibly adaptable, especially when they’re busy learning, playing, and bonding with their trainer.
Most owners find the separation is actually harder on them than on their dog! And when it’s time to reunite? Dogs are always thrilled to see their people and love showing off everything they’ve learned.

Justine was wonderful with our golden retriever. Hank was 6 months old and had a rather aggressive biting issue not allowing us to be affectionate with him. He also was unmanageable on a leash. Justine had him on a 3 week board and train program. She contacted us with videos and texts daily on his progress. We were just ecstatic when he returned home as a sweet, calmer and affectionate dog that listened and obeyed our commands. Justine spent several hours with us afterwards immediately after his return and then two weeks later to correct any problems we were having. We have completely embraced the program with consistency on correction. Hank has been great. We can’t say enough about how great this program is. Chelsea spent so much time at the beginning obtaining a complete history of Hank and then choosing the training program and the best trainer Justine who treated Hank like a member of her family. She was so patient with him. Without them, we may have rehomed Hank because this was our
second training program. We had almost given up hope that he would be a good fit for our family. Now we have our Hank for life. Thank you so much!

My dog, Boots, recently completed a 3 week board and train with JaXx, and I couldn’t be happier with the progress he made while in her care! We were struggling with reactivity towards other dogs and strangers prior to the training. He also needed some help learning to walk on a leash without pulling the entire time. The whole time Boots was away from me, JaXx was very communicative about his progress! I received multiple videos and texts every day which showed what they were working on. This made me feel so comfortable while my dog was with her! Once Boots returned, JaXx spent over two hours walking me through everything I needed to know about his training. She was extremely thorough and ensured I felt confident before she left. We also had a follow up lesson a couple weeks later to make sure we were still feeling good and understanding everything! Overall, I am super happy with our decision to train with Command Canine. I feel much more comfortable handling my dog when a situation arises that could trigger his reactivity. JaXx was the best trainer to be paired with for Boots’ needs!! Thank you all for everything!

We have a pitbull and a pittie/doberman mix who are both reactive with other dogs and unfortunately when we weren’t home, the dog sitter was playing with them and the pittie/dobie attacked the the other one and it ended up in an ER visit with the pittie. We worked with Chelsey Marino and Maggie for almost a year with in-home training and our lives have completely changed! They were so informative and patient for our anxieties, it helped instill a lot of confidence in us as dog owners. We have so many tools and a deeper understanding what we can do to help them and help prevent them from getting to that reactive state. I could literally write a book on how grateful we are for them!!

She heard our concerns regarding our dog- resource guarding food bowl, showing aggressive behaviors at times and needed to understand basic commands. She updated us regularly over the 3 weeks. He came back a happy dog that now is well behaved. JaXX also educated us on how to set up our dog for success by creating space when he needed it.
