Can I see my dog while they're at the board and train?
You’re always welcome to see your dog, but we strongly recommend waiting until the program is complete. Dogs are creatures of habit, and seeing you mid-training can make them sad when you leave again. That may disrupt the new routines we’re building and set progress back a few days. Don’t worry, you won’t feel out of the loop! You’ll get regular updates, pictures, videos, and messages from your trainer every day!

Will my dog be placed in a kennel during a board and train session?
Not here! Our trainers only work with 2-3 dogs at a time in their home, so your dog gets TONS of training, and gets to spend time as they usually would in your home; resting, playing, cuddling, etc!

Will my dog think I abandoned them if I do a board and train program?
It’s totally normal to worry about this but rest assured, your dog won’t feel abandoned. They may miss you a bit the first day or two, but dogs are incredibly adaptable, especially when they’re busy learning, playing, and bonding with their trainer. Most owners find the separation is actually harder on them than on their dog! And when it’s time to reunite? Dogs are always thrilled to see their people and love showing off everything they’ve learned.

I have a 4-year-old Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) that we had previously put through two rounds of training with no success. The Command Canine team worked hard with us to help us better understand our dog's behavior so that we could better communicate with her. It was worth every penny, as she can now effectively be at our shop around other dogs (even cats!) and other people with no issues whatsoever! Trust me when I tell you that you will not find a better company to work with than Command Canine!

I can not recommend Command K9 enough. I spent about two days calling around the Charlotte area and speaking with training companies for the purpose of training my 8 year old anxious/reactive German Shepherd (Bear). He was trained previously but after we made the move from the country to the city he became anxious, reactive, and unruly. I first spoke to the owner who immediately referred me to the co-owner for intake/history. She spent an hour and a half on the phone with me getting his entire history down to his litter information. She was incredibly detailed, helpful, and put our mind at ease, taking more time than any other company had to hear our concerns before we even made a financial commitment. She referred us to JaXx who specializes in reactivity and we could not be happier. We opted for a three-week board and train. JaXx sent us videos of Bear's progress daily, explaining what she was doing to train him and what behaviors we, the owners, needed to exhibit upon his return home. We got the same lovable boy back, but with more confidence, manners, and so much less anxiety. We have since passed other dogs, loud vehicles, and people, all things that would have previously triggered Bear. Using our training direction he was incredible, paying none of those "obstacles" any mind. Upon giving him back to us, JaXx spent a couple of hours explaining to us his commands, showing us how to keep up with his training, and giving us suggestions to keep him mentally stimulated. He is our same fur baby, but his anxiety is a night and day difference. Even still, they gave us realistic expectations reinforcing that we would need to keep up with his training in order for it to continue to benefit us all. I highly recommend Command K9. They truly care and are committed to excellence. To everyone who helped us, I extend the highest of praise and thanks. I am so excited to do our follow-up and group classes.
