To clarify, Liberty was rehomed as a failed service dog due to her timid and nervous temperament, which was fully disclosed prior to adoption. Your mother was added to Liberty’s Seesaw account weeks before the purchase, giving her access to review training videos and obedience evaluations that documented Liberty’s progress and behavior. She completed six months of documented training, passed all obedience tasks, and, just one day before her delivery to you, received a veterinary evaluation confirming she was well cared for, had a sweet temperament, and did well with other dogs in the clinic. Liberty was also raised with children and has always been very gentle and sweet with them, showing no aggressive, dangerous, or problematic behaviors throughout her time with us. During the handover, our team spent over an hour with you reviewing her temperament, obedience, and the reasons she didn’t succeed as a service dog, including her lack of prior exposure to cats. You were provided with her training manual, tools like a pinch collar and leash, and videos demonstrating her behavior. Liberty performed her obedience tasks for you, and you expressed comfort and satisfaction with her at the time. She had been with you less than 24 hours when we last communicated, and dogs often need time to adjust to new homes. Prior to this review, we received threatening texts from you, identifying yourself as an attorney representing your mother, which we’ve addressed privately. As we’ve noted, our policy does not allow us to take back rehomed failed service dogs, a stance we reiterated after driving over seven hours to deliver her. She was playing with other dogs without issue the morning of transport, and we’ve seen no evidence of aggression or danger in her behavior. We’re committed to transparency and ensuring a good match, and we regret if there was any misunderstanding. If you choose to rehome her independently, we wish you the best, and we remain available to answer any questions about her training or care.
