Alex helped us with our fearful foster pup Josie in the Fall of 2022. He gave us practical and useful documentation so that we could gain the skills to help Josie succeed. We met with Alex at least once a week for several months for hands-on training, which helped Josie become more accepting of new surroundings and people. With Alex’s assistance Josie’s fears decreased and she was able to be adopted by a wonderful and patient family that vowed to continue her training. Josie is thriving today thanks to Alex’s training.

Alex is fantastic with dogs. I have a German Shepard and Collie mix. My German Shepard had a bad habit of jumping on people and Alex was able to stop that behavior. He was very good in handling both my dogs. My Shepard has been with Alex since he was a pup and he’s very good with people and when he goes on his walks with other dogs. I can’t recommend Commonwealth Pet Care enough! I’ve worked with Alex over the past several months training my puppy, Willow. He is patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable. He provides immediate feedback and demonstrates what to do to properly train a dog. He also provides written instructions to reference when I’m training her. Willow has made immense progress on her areas of concern and has mastered basic commands. We have attended group walk and train sessions as well which are wonderful for socializing her as well. We came to Commonwealth Pet Care from a recommendation from our vet. Our pup Stella was extremely fearful of people and other dogs and we were afraid this fear would lead to aggression. From the first “meet and greet” with Alex we knew we had found a great trainer for Stella. Alex was extremely professional and knowledgeable from the beginning. He identified Stella’s needs right away. Alex worked around our schedule and was very accommodating. Through Alex’s classical conditioning techniques Stella has become a confident and secure pup who loves to meet new people and other dogs.
