Alex and his team at Commonwealth Pet Care have always been great with our Labradoodle, Peppa. My family and I use CPC for the majority of our pet care needs. We started using CPC for dog training when a friend referred us to Alex and Commonwealth Pet Care. We started with socialization and temperament training with Peppa. She was intimidated by other dogs and avoided interacting and playing with them. Alex showed us how to properly socialize her with other dogs, without overwhelming her and causing her any unnecessary stress. He also showed us how to pick and choose which dogs were the right fit to socialize our dog Peppa with. Peppa is now very social and playful with other dogs. We also used Alex for obedience and behavioral training. Peppa would get so excited to be outside that she would always pull on her leash. Alex showed how to properly walk her on a loose leash and door etiquette to prevent her from running out the door and pulling on her leash. We highly recommend Commonwealth Pet Care for dog training.

Let me start off by saying, Alex is AMAZING!! My wife and I were having a serious issue with our French Bulldog Moo Moo. She would go ballistic and bite us when we tried to clean her ears. Not even our vet could clean her ears without her biting. Eventually she developed an ear infection. Our vet recommended we take her to a behaviorist for help. We took her to the behaviorist our vet recommended. They charged us $175 dollars for a 30 minute consultation and they couldn't clean her ears either. The behaviorist prescribed us Acepromazine to calm her down so we could clean her ears without getting bitten. It worked, but Moo Moo was completely doped up and out of it. It was heartbreaking for my wife and I to see her like that so we decided to stop giving her Acepromazine. My wive's friend told her about a trainer she used (Alex with Commonwealth Pet Care) with huge success, so we contacted him. As soon as he arrived he started to play with Moo Moo. He explained to us that not only were they playing but also establishing a mutual trust. After a couple minutes of playing, Alex straddled Moo Moo on the floor, while Moo Moo was lying down, facing away from him. He started to massage her neck. He explained he was simulating a gentle dog bite to establish respect. After a couple minutes of the doggy massage he asked for the ear cleaning solution and some Q-tips. My wife and I were just waiting for Moo Moo to go crazy and bite him when he started to clean her ears but she didn't, she didn't even move a muscle. He finished cleaning one ear and started to clean the second. My wife and I tense and nervous that she would eventually bite, but again she didn't. Once he was done with her second ear, he praised her and gave her more doggy massages in the neck area and let her up. She stood up shook her head and proceeded to play with Alex. My wife was so happy she cried. Alex had us perform the same technique and simulate cleaning her ears. She did not react or bite us. We are so relieved and grateful to have met Alex. Now we can clean Moo Moo's ears without drugging her and without her throwing a hissy fit and biting us. During our next checkup, our vet was amazed on how clean and healthy her ears looked. She didn't believe that we could clean her ears without drugging her up, so we showed her how we did it. She was speechless that Moo Moo didn't react at all and bite. Alex is priceless.
