I waited sometime to write this review, just because the nature of dog training (and human training) takes time. I took my dogs in for a three week board and train back in April. My dogs, Kobe and Messi, are both 9 years old and chihuahua, terrier, havanese mixes (cute and old). One of my dogs was aggressive and he bit me which is one of the main reasons I booked the board and train. Both of my dogs were reactive and they both have separation anxiety. For years they have been this way, until it all became too much. I was stressed and I knew my dogs were also stressed. After several nights of crying, I found Complete Canine online. I spoke to Brian and I expressed to him my concerns about putting my dogs in the board and train, but Brian helped reassure me that they would be okay and after speaking to him I knew it was the right thing. I am so happy that I did. Great news, old dogs can learn new tricks! They learned structure, commands, and confidence. While some of their fears still needed some work, Brenna helped guide me through these issues especially my dog’s crate issues. When my dogs came back home, it took them time to re-adjust and it also took some time for them to gain their weight back but don’t worry, they do get back to their routine and normal weight. But once they were home, the training did not stop. The board and train helped build a foundation but the real benefit was learning how to keep up with the training yourself at home. As I write this 5 months post board and train, I am happy to let you know that training is still going well and part of our regular routine. My dogs are more polite on leash, they have not lashed out or been aggressive, they know their boundaries, and their separation anxiety has gotten better. As for me, I am more patient, more present, and less selfish as a dog owner. I have not been stressed and I haven’t cried over my dogs’ behaviors. Complete Canine helped make my life and my dogs’ lives better. It’s never too late to get them trained.
