Complete K9 Services

We reached out to Complete K9 Services several months ago because our 4 year old Labrador, Marshall, was really hard to handle on walks. The pulling was intense, and if we saw another person or dog on our walks it was hard to hold him back, and usually I would just turn around to walk back home totally discouraged. He would bark or growl at other dogs, and it made me really nervous that I wouldn't be able to handle him in those situations. At home he was the perfect family dog, loving and kind to my kids, and happy to play in the yard, but we wanted him to be able to enjoy life with us and go out on walks, hikes in the woods, exploring with our busy family. In addition to that, 6 months ago, Marshall started having partial seizures, and our vet recommended working with a qualified trainer to teach him to "place" safely if a seizure was coming, on or in the midst of happening. So that really set our search into motion. Sal, owner of Complete K9 Services, came up with a really thorough training plan to help us reach (and exceed) our goals! We started day trains several times a week with Sal in April, and by mid May, Marshall had worked through all of his leash issues, and was positively thriving in situations that previously would set him off. We have spent a lot of time working on our "homework" from Sal, and it's been so rewarding for me to gain the confidence and partnership with Marshall. One of my big goals was to be able to bring Marshall with me to the farm where I keep my horse. The job of being a "barn dog" requires sharp and accurate obedience to keep everyone safe around strong 1300 lb animals! Sal worked with me at the barn, and Marshall was a shining star through the whole experience. He even stayed in "place" when a curious barn cat came to see what was going on! Having Marshall at the barn with me was something I never imagined possible, but with Sal's guidance and confidence building teamwork, we knocked it out of the ballpark! I will continue to be a client of Sal's long term! He is so kind, encouraging, and patient with the dogs he works with; it is a real reflection of how passionate and committed he is to being a top professional in his field. We are looking forward to continuing our training and group classes. This whole experience has given me and Marshall a whole new dynamic to our lives together, and I am so grateful!
