I was also a previous student at CT K9 and did not feel my experience was worth the money. Most days there were no dogs to groom and I found myself sitting there “collecting hours.” They would not give you your certificate unless you “completed” all hours which usually meant just sitting there and cleaning for the day. The facility itself is extremely outdated and in need of some serious TLC! Clearly no money is placed back into this business. I did not feel prepared as a groomer upon graduation and felt a lot of what I know now has been self taught on the job. Honestly, if you want to start grooming save your money and go find someone who wants a student to teach and offer them money instead. I wouldn’t waste your money time or efforts here at this facility.

I take my dog here for grooming every 2 months or so. When we went for his spring cut, they didn't take off quite as much as I would have liked but I took him home anyway to see what my girlfriend thought. She agreed that he was still too hairy and so we called to see if they would take him back and buzz him down. To our pleasant surprise they took him the next day and only charged us $5 (the difference between a trim and a cut). They are always so friendly and make you feel extremely comfortable leaving your dog there for the day. Will definitely continue going back!
