Control Is Key Dog Training

My girl Liberty had some issues which required some help. She lacked confidence and had some mild anxiety. As soon as she started training, she fell in love with her trainer which Is Mike. They worked beautifully together. She left a lasting impression with him. She is more confident and relaxed now. She made it clear she likes to work alongside Mike out in public. I feel more confident with her changed behavior.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Control Is Key, Matt, and our trainer Ashley. From the very beginning, Matt made the entire process seamless. He took the time to help us determine what training option was best for both us and our dog, Oakley, without ever making us feel pressured into anything we weren’t comfortable with. I had met Matt years ago in passing and remembered him being kind and honest, and our experience confirmed exactly that. It was clear that he genuinely had both our dog’s and our family’s best interests in mind. We worked with Ashley for eight sessions in a variety of environments, including their training facility, local parks, and stores. She is truly one of the most calm, caring, knowledgeable, and compassionate people we’ve ever met. Oakley absolutely adored her, which says a lot because he can be very timid around new people. He would get excited every time we told him we were going to see Ashley. We chose positive reinforcement training using treats, and the results exceeded our expectations. Not only did we see major improvements in Oakley’s behavior, but Ashley also taught us how to better communicate with and understand our dog. Each week, we would report back on how things went at home, and she would build upon what we had worked on previously. Oakley picked up many of her commands and exercises quickly, but whenever something wasn’t clicking, Ashley always had alternative methods to try. She also helped us recognize body language and signals Oakley was giving that we hadn’t been picking up on ourselves. Ashley was incredibly communicative, patient, and encouraging throughout the entire process. She made both us and Oakley feel comfortable from day one, and by the end of the program she felt more like a friend than just a trainer. The sessions weren’t just productive, they were genuinely fun for both our aussie and us! We were originally referred to Control Is Key because my sister had multiple dogs trained by them with fantastic results, and now we completely understand why. The entire team is made up of wonderful people with exceptional knowledge and a genuine passion for helping dogs and their owners succeed. We would wholeheartedly recommend Control Is Key to anyone looking for dog training. We owe a special thanks to them for everything they’ve done our family! :)

In a couple words: absolutely life-changing. Both for my dog Bosco, and myself. I don't think I could ever recommend anything as strongly as I recommend Control is Key, and Mike as well. The entire staff there is fantastic, Matt did my preliminary consultation, and helped with the first couple trainings before turning it over to Mike's amazingly capable hands. I am ashamed to say I'd nearly given up on Bosco, or on getting him the correct behavioral training or anything. He's nearly 7, and I was stuck in the old adage about old dogs, new tricks. However, the sweet, but rambunctious and difficult to deal with/have around people dog I started with in this endeavor, has transformed into a wonderful, well-behaved, "such a good boi" gentleman, and I never thought that would be possible. If you ever get to the level like me where you think your dog may be a lost cause, or "untrainable," I implore you to talk with Mike and the crew at Control is Key. Prices were very reasonable (I paid 1.2k for 12 weeks, other places wanted 200-300 per class 😱), and you get faaaaaar more out of it than you'll ever put in. Like I said, "life-changing."
