Now I actually can’t wait to get home at the end of the day to see my pup—and it’s all thanks to Sandy! She has made such a huge difference for both of us, and I am so grateful we found her.

Karissa did great with Cinco. He is a 4 year old Aussiedoodle. We did a board and train for about 5 weeks, which she ended up keeping him an additional week for some continued training. His focus was on-leash and off leash training with recall as well as aggression training. He had lots of issues lunging/pulling on leash and not being able to even see a dog or some humans without barking and throwing a fit. He also has quite an attitude of doing what he wants sometimes, despite being really smart with other commands like sit and wait (the poodle makes him too smart for his own good). However, Karissa was able to give him a lot more structure, teach boundaries and expectations, and teach him how to handle his big emotions. He was trained on an e-collar (we were set home with it, aka contribution to the investment!) which opens up endless possibilities for us to continue training him at home. He’s done extremely well since we got him back. He’s overall more calm, less anxious, and understands listens to voice command better like “uhn uhn” (aka “no”) really well in various contexts without us having to say it over and over like before. At first, i was apprehensive to training because it’s expensive (about 3800), but given the amount of time he spent away and the training poured into him, I think the price overall was very much worth it. Also the reviews for the company speak for themselves and I understand why now. I’m also looking forward to having the CK9 folks and Karissa there for us for the rest of his life as we grow our family and may need to navigate new challenges. My only constructive feedback is around the slight lack of regular communication on what Cinco was doing/updates, but given the trainer’s schedules and business of life in general I had some grace and understanding. He came back in one piece and seemed to be very happy with her so I know he was taken care of :) she also sent pics when I asked! We still have a follow up lesson and 3 private training lessons which only makes the process and cost that much more worth it, as we soon will work on specific poor behaviors unique to our home. Karissa offers such a wealth of knowledge around all things dogs and is so patient with us, our questions, and Cinco. It’s been great working with her and I know Cinco loved her home, big dogs, cats, and acres of land lol.
The individual dog training sessions that we had with Sandy were extremely helpful. Sandy was very good at targeting the training towards our needs and provided us with many exercises and techniques to help with our puppy. Also very efficient, friendly and responsive. We all benefited greatly from taking these training classes.
Karissa is a total pro who went above and beyond to set us up for success with our first-ever puppy. She creates a fun and effective training experience for both K-9s and us people. We can’t wait to board/train with her again!
