It is a bit scary trusting your pet to any new service provider. It was a really big deal for me to trust someone to board and train my puppy for multiple weeks. I was only slightly familiar with Cornerstone K9 having met a few trainers at a local event. My first conversation with Gina helped me feel more comfortable. She really understood both what I needed from my dog and educated me about some breed specific things my dog needed from me. The proposal I received was detailed and included the options I had asked for. Gina was extraordinarily responsive to my many questions such that I felt very comfortable doing business with Cornerstone. The trainer bios were of no help when it came to choosing one as they all sound fantastic and more than qualified to train a pet. I choose the trainer with the best availability for me. Sandy (the trainer) called me right away even though it would be weeks before she met my dog, she gave me plenty of time to tell her about my dog. The trainers post videos to Instagram so I was able to watch her work with other dogs while waiting for my dog’s turn. I almost felt like knew her when she came to pick up my dog. I was able to follow the training on Instagram and was thrilled. Sandy spent two hours with us when she brought him home, making sure we knew how to practice and reinforce all the good manners he had learned. Sandy was also very responsive and easy to communicate with during the training. Reacher has been home for a full day and he is far easier to live with. We are still testing each other out. But it is such a joy to have our same boy back without all of his bad habits. It is also comforting to know that I can still reach out to Cornerstone if we start having problems.

We had the best experience with Cornerstone K-9 right off the bat. When I first reached out about the puppy training programs, I had so many questions and wasn’t sure which direction to take. Gina really helped guide me and was so thoughtful about my dog’s and my family’s needs. She gave recommendations without pressure as to which options would be the best for our family, and it worked out so well. Our trainer, Kaitlin, was also amazing from the get-go. We had a few at-home training sessions with her and our kids before sending our dog with her for the 3-week program. Luna felt so comfortable with her and loved her before we sent her away, so it made it much easier to send her with Kaitlin for a few weeks. And she came home so well-trained!! We also got a tutorial on how to continue with the training at home. She has been so great with her commands and listens and responds really well, thanks to Kaitlin’s work with her. We definitely recommend Cornerstone K-9!

Where do I start ??? The Cornerstone k9 family is just AMAZING . We are so lucky to have come across them . My dog Atlas has been training and boarding with their trainers since he was 6 months old . I can’t recommend them enough! He was 6 months old when he did his first board and train . Atlas (Australien shepherds) was a menace at that age and the trainer he was with did an amazing job with him . I was very sceptical to be honest , I was very worried about how he would be treated , I did not want his spirit broken. The owners and trainer were so reassuring and constantly kept me updated that slowly my worries faded. When he came home I got a 2 h lesson on how to work with Atlas to keep his momentum going. Any time I had a question or worry the trainer was there for us to walk us through. I leave the country to visit family once a year ,last year he did a boarding stay w his trainer and knowing he is taken care of made the vacation more relaxing . This year I decided to do another board and train program to polish some of Atlas training. I emailed the owners and Gina was wonderful taking my requests and needs and tailoring a program to address all. Atlas is 2 now , very smart and determined dog . She matched us with Sandy and oh boy did she do an absolute phenomenal job with him . Again I am one of those overly protective dog moms and always worried that he is in good hands . I can say I was genuinely worried he wouldn’t want to come home this time . He had the grandest time with her and her family and learned sooooo much ! There is nothing better then knowing your fur baby is taken care of and loved while you are away AND gets some amazing training at the same time ! Sandy stayed in touch with me , without having to prompt it , to update with videos , pictures and detailed explainations. I am looking forward to many more years with K9 Cornerstone ! They are THE BEST! Highly recommended them !

It’s with a heavy heart that I write this review, but I cannot recommend Cornerstone K9. Both of my dogs, Jjangu and Binky, went through their training programs earlier this year. Jjangu did the 4-week reactivity recall training (which ended up running 5 weeks), and Binky did the 2-week reactivity training with follow-up sessions. Both dogs came back more reactive than when they went in. Reactivity was the primary concern I flagged during the consultation for both dogs. So it was surprising when, upon pickup, the trainer told me she had never seen either dog display reactive behavior. We tested this on a walk together immediately after — the first dog we passed, both of my dogs reacted strongly. The trainer again said she hadn’t seen this before. I understand reactivity can be situational, but what’s hard to reconcile is that in 4+ weeks with Jjangu, he was apparently never once put in a position — with a controlled level of exposure to another dog — to actually work through his reactivity. When I raised this, the trainer explained that she always kept enough distance that his reactivity never triggered. That defeats the purpose of training for a reactivity-specific concern I was explicit about from the start. Since finishing the program, we’ve had multiple one-on-one follow-up sessions and have been doing everything asked of us, but both dogs remain just as reactive as before. If your dog struggles with reactivity, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere — that’s what I’ll be doing.
