Cosmic Dog Training

We’re only 2 sessions in and I’m already seeing progress in my rescued chihuahua/ terrier pup! Kathleen makes training playful and fun for both the pup and you. I find her play based techniques less stressful and easier to practice than methods I’ve learned in the past. My little fearful girl is gaining confidence and 12 y/o bull terrier mix loves joining in on the fun. Yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks!

I cannot recommend Kathleen enough as a dog trainer! She has been a tremendous help with my 13-month-old Italian Cane Corso, who has been dealing with fear issues due to a previous bad training experience. The techniques Kathleen has taught me have made a significant difference in improving her confidence and overall behavior. Not only is she knowledgeable, but her warm personality makes training sessions enjoyable. I appreciate her patience and the personalized approach she takes with my dog. We started puppy classes with Kathleen when, Murphy our Border Collie, was 9 weeks old. 6 weeks of Puppy Fundamentals, followed by 6 weeks of Life Skills. Murphy just turned 5 months old (22 weeks) and he's doing fantastic! My experience with Kathleen has been wonderful. She is very competent and knowledgeable as a dog trainer and canine behaviorist. Explains things very well when it comes to why Murphy is acting a certain way or how to accomplish a specific training goal. It was important to me to find a specialist in Border Collies who was experienced and well educated. Kathleen fit that bill, and felt like the right fit after we had our initial consultation. We are very grateful for what we have learned so far, Murphy and myself included. Murphy loves play and his trainings. He has all the basic commands down and his leash manners have improved. For 5 months, Murphy is very obedient a majority of the time. Crate trained with no fuss at nap times. Recall is getting more and more consistent. Leaves strangers and other dogs on command. He's a very smart and sweet little puppy, but he can be a little maniac sometimes, and I really believe that he is turning out so well because we got him started early. We are very happy with his progress and I would personally highly recommend Kathleen at Cosmic Dog Training especially if you have a Border Collie or other high energy breed. She was able to get us on the right track right from the start and it is definitely paying off! I am planning on continuing Murphy's education with Kathleen doing some Fitness Training in preparation for Agility and Frisbee training when he gets to be a year old. Absolutely 5 stars!

So glad we found Kathleen! She’s truly amazing and has such a deep understanding of the why behind behaviors. She explains everything in such a clear, approachable way. We started with 1:1 sessions at our apartment, which is really affordable and already helped with Lucca’s recent increase in nighttime reactivity. We’re excited to keep working with her, especially in her fitness class and eventually the scent work and life skills classes. I can’t recommend Kathleen enough; her personal experience with her own dogs, her wealth of knowledge in dog behavior, gentle and thoughtful approach, and affordability make her an invaluable resource. We’re so grateful to have her guidance and can’t wait to continue learning from her!
