Cottonwoodretrievers is Idaho’s premier dog training facility. We are a full time training facility settled along the boise river on 42 acres of pastures and ponds developed for dog training. We have trained dogs from AKC field trials and hunt tests competitions to some detection dogs for the Marine Corp. We offer training at all levels from basic to very advanced.We also have started and finished dogs along with very good well bred puppies . Jake took on a huge project accepting our Boykin Spaniel into his gun-dog program and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Jake and Christy are passionate about training and making sure they get the very best out of each dog. We were happy to see improvement and progress each time we visited and to see how well he was taken care of. Jake also took extra time to make sure we understood how to continue the training at home. We’re excited to get Griffey back out for more training this fall

Jake got the results that would have taken me four or five years, in eight months. I cannot say enough good things about Jake and Christy. Amazing trainer that gets results, but keeps and grows the enthusiasm in you dog. Amazing people as well. You will find no better friend for you and your dog than Cottonwood Retrievers.

I purchased a pup from Jake last December and took him back at 6 months old for training. He spent about 4 months with Jake and I just got him back. Jake does a incredible job with the training and he is not your normal dog breeder, he is a trainer that has about one litter a year. If your looking for a great dog and a great trainer look no farther.
