Courteous K9

My daughter and I both took classes at Courteous K9s last month. She took Puppy Foundations 1 with her 3 month old GSD, and I took the Foundations 1 with our 7 month old GSD. I was impressed with the staff and how they handled the dogs that I observed boarding and in class. My instructor was Ethan. When Rio began classes she had a strong fear of people and men in particular. It was clear that Ethan knows dogs. He did not bend over her or crowd her but simply offered her treats without giving her the feeling he was aggressing on her. By the end of the class she was willingly approaching him and taking treats and even gave him a cursory lick! She has come a long way with other people as well, greeting them in our home with no growling or raised hackles. Now she is taking agility - off leash - and loves it. We will be taking Foundations 2 as well. I recommend CK-9 for their "dog sense" and "people sense". With horses we used to say, "it's easy to train the horse, it's harder to train the owner." It may apply to dogs as well!

I did my research and chose CourteousK9. I have a new puppy and wanted to train him and myself so we are taking classes. The staff we have worked with are so great. They are knowledgeable and so patient with all of the different puppies and owners. I can tell everyone who works there loves what they do and loves dogs. It has been a great experience. I am going to try their day training program as well. Highly recommend.
