Crossbones Dog Academy

We are beyond thrilled at the experience we are having with our new puppy at Crossbones! Every single staff member has been welcoming and helpful, truly. While pets have been a part of our lives since forever, owning a new puppy is an entirely new experience for our family. We started Charlie off in puppy day school for 4 weeks, and we just made the decision to upgrade to the Complete Puppy Raising program. It is a wonderful feeling dropping him off at puppy day school knowing that he is in such caring and competent hands. We also happen to have a very high energy puppy-it would be hard to meet his needs being at home and also carrying on with work and all of the day to day things. We saw an improvement in his behaviors at home immediately after he started school. The flex classes are amazing and we are learning so much. The Puppy Teacher conferences are a great chance to have check-ins with the trainers for updates and to ask any questions that pop up. I can't recommend Crossbones enough!

Crossbones is easily the best thing that’s happened for me and my dog Hazel. I started Hazel with their foundations classes, then onto their advanced manners classes, which then inspired me to apply for the KPA-DTP course. Having the support of Crossbones (through private training sessions) with their wonderful trainer, PJ, insured our success with completing a difficult behavior chain for our training assessment for the KPA-DTP course. Recently we’ve returned for the agility fundamentals class with Katherine, and though we are only one class in, we are both loving it and are very excited to be back at Crossbones to learn a whole new skill set.

Our rescue puppy (pit mix) at 10 months old started going to Crossbones for the 8 week intensive training program. She was very “mouthy” and loved jumping up to nip. Never aggressive but definitely not good manners! We are 6 weeks in and wow what a difference we’ve noticed! We now feel like we have the knowledge to manage her energy and redirect her to set her up for success. Over the course of the program, through the flex classes and individual lessons, we’ve learned and practiced tons of new tools that are easy to apply at home with her and our other 2 dogs. Thanks Crossbones Team! Cannot thank you enough for helping us with our girl Maisie.

We have been so lucky- one of my wife’s colleagues recommended this team to us and we couldn’t be any happier. Our puppy is becoming a more relaxed and non bitey member of our family. She’s getting along with our other animals, she’s doing better with training. It’s all due to the amazing team at Crossbones Dog academy. Crossbones has been a lifesaver for us and our new puppy Franny. We started in February with a totally unmanageable and disruptive little girl and now 3 months later we have a puppy that is a delight and becoming a lovely family dog. Kat, Dan, & PJ have made all the difference in her training and care. The weekly puppy/teacher meetings and flex classes have helped us in learning how to help reinforce the positive behaviors they’re teaching Franny.
