Daniel Dagg, Bay Area Dog Trainer

My girlfriend and I hired Dan to help with our recently adopted 5 year old sprollie mix, Percy. Percy has issues with separation anxiety, resource guarding, and was under socialized with other dogs and people. After our training sessions with Dan, we have seen a lot of improvement in Percy’s behavior, and more importantly, we learned a lot from Dan about the reasons for his behavior and how to correct it. Dan is very knowledgeable about dog behavior and training theory, and dogs love him.

I reached out to Dan when we started to notice some some issues with our new Aussie. The veterinarian told me to expect a 2 to 3 month wait for a good behaviorist. When I called Dan did have a waiting list but the difference was he said stay in touch with me until our meeting and call me with any questions. When We had our first meeting I knew Dan was the right trainer. He came into the house with two barking Aussies and within minutes they were both sitting and looking up to him. I went over the issues he gave me a list of of tools and books for me to read and then took the dogs out for a walk. Dan said they would be off lead dogs when he was done. On the third visit we went to the park and he was off lead it was amazing. I would recommend Dan for anyone having issues with their dog or if you have a new dog get the correct training upfront.

We have a one year old Mini Aussie who was resource guarding along with some other difficult behaviors. We had met another trainer before Dan, who quickly decided our dog needed meds, was aggressive and then stopped communicating with us completely. It was really devastating when you are asking for help. What a difference it made to find Dan. His kindness and knowledge gave us back our confidence. We've learned so much and our dog has really responded. Dan helped us understand our dog and gave us the tools we really needed to be successful with him. We are very grateful to Dan and recommend him to others. He really believes in the dogs and people he helps.
