Daniel Dagg, Bay Area Dog Trainer

We called Dan to help us with our two dogs. Our goal was to limit the amount of reactivity on walks. Our dog Finn is a Border Collie, and he was the teacher’s pet. At first, we were scared to take him to the dog parks because he was reactive toward other dogs. Dan came with us to the park and helped us calm the dog down before we went in. We are back at dog parks now with little to no issues. Finn loved working with Dan, and he also started to make strides with reacting to skateboards and scooters. Our other dog Holly is a pitbull/chihuahua mix. During our first session, Dan couldn’t get her to lay down or even sit AT ALL. She was super stubborn and wouldn’t sit back. Now, Holly is able to lay down and be patient for her food! I was the other one Dan trained. I was very upset every time we walked and the dogs were reactive. I wasn’t putting out “pack leader” energy. Dan helped me with my confidence and I haven’t had the crazy issues I’ve been having before. We loved working with Dan and will miss his humor. We would recommend him to anyone who wanted an extremely knowledgeable trainer and wanted to have fun during the process. He is extremely personable and always there if you need a sounding board. Dan Dagg is nothing short of a canine whisperer. When our pup Ellie started showing aggressive behavior, Dan stepped in and transformed her demeanor. Well.... actually we were the problem, so he coached and trained us which changed our approach and behaviors. Ellie is great now, she just needed more exercise 1/1 time everyday. Beyond that, he educated us on dog hierarchy, effectively working with Frida, Mango, and Roo as well. His expertise brought harmony back to our furry family. Highly recommend! 🐾

We are so thankful to have met Dan! He opened our eyes to what our (very) active breed of a dog needs to succeed. His honesty and compassion for our situation was appreciated. He tailored our training for exactly what we needed to work on (visitor greetings and dog manners at our front door, along with dog park etiquette). We have so many more tools to help us move forward, but most importantly- a new perspective on our relationship with our dogs. And he’s just a phone call away for anything that comes up!
