Jeff was kind enough to offer us his services in a volunteer capacity at our non-profit animal rescue, Best Friends and Hens Inc.! My husband and I recently took in a foster dog as a favor for a close friend who could no longer keep their pet. We already had four cats in an apartment. We very quickly realized that we were in over our heads and far too inexperienced with dogs. We needed some sort of guidance, and Jeff was the only person we considered asking. We've known Jeff for a few years. We've seen his journey from the day he began considering becoming a dog owner to him launching his own dog training business. He invited us to his studio for a behavior assessment. Jeff offered us some much needed reassurance on the things we were doing right. He corrected the things that needed correcting without any shame or judgment. He was able to explain characteristics of this particular breed and what the dog was experiencing through the fostering transition in a way that was easy for us to understand. I had bruises on my forearm from leash pulling. It never would have occurred to me that I wasn't even connecting the leash to the harness properly or holding the leash properly! This and a few other simple changes Jeff instructed us on have helped us realize that we actually have a very smart and well-behaved dog! The peace in our home after just a single meeting Jeff has been immeasurable. We highly recommend Jeff to anyone who might be struggling with their dog. Jeff is far more than just a trainer. He can guide you through establishing effective communication with your dog and fostering a stronger bond with zero negative reinforcement.
