I was matched with my service dog in July and Max graduated at the end of September. Upon arriving at diabetic alert dogs of America shop max alerted right away that my blood sugars were high after flying to Las Vegas. I had two days of training with max and he did great. The first night in the hotel Max woke me up at 3 am because my blood sugars had dropped during the night. The staff is amazing. My service dog is amazing. Max has saved me numerous times during the night over the last 2 months with low blood sugars that I didn’t hear my alarms going off but max will first put his paws on my chest and if I don’t react he will pounce to wake me up. Can’t say enough good things about Joanne and Shelby and all the trainers. They are there to help you and guide you.

She shared helpful tips, guided us through commands and routines, and made the transition smooth. We learned so much from her and were genuinely sad when she left. This company is reputable, follows through on what they promise, and delivers an exceptional product. Our experience was entirely positive. It’s important for new owners to understand that receiving a trained dog is just the beginning. Continued practice and consistency are essential. These dogs are remarkably skilled, but like humans, they can have off moments. That doesn’t mean poor training—it means they’re living beings. Without ongoing commitment from the owner, performance will not stay consistent. This is a lifelong partnership, and the effort you put in truly matters. UPDATE: Company is actively trying to delete and report honest reviews. We paid $17,000 for what was supposed to be a fully trained diabetic alert service dog for our 2-year-old daughter with Type 1 Diabetes. What we received was the exact opposite — a dog that has never performed a single night alert, false alerts constantly, and breaks commands regularly. When we voiced concerns, the trainer told us she “just needed time,” not that these problems would continue indefinitely. We were never told about a refund option — only pressured to sign paperwork before he would leave. Months later, the company blamed us and refused any accountability, hiding behind their contract instead of helping our family. Our daughter has now been scratched by the dog and frightened by behavior that no trained service dog should show. After filing reports with the BBB and FTC, we learned we’re not alone — this company has a history of similar complaints. They prey on vulnerable families searching for help. Don’t make the same mistake we did.
