Diamond State K9 Training, Paw Spa Grooming

I’ve always wanted a well-trained dog to train to be a service dog. I came across a beautiful and sweet German Shepard I named Love, but I found it incredibly difficult to train her from my wheelchair. I began to look at training options and contacted Diamond State, telling them I was in a wheelchair, and they encouraged me to Board and Train. It was a lot of money - a month and a half of Social Security - but I felt it worth it if they could get Love to Sit, Stay, Come, & Heel on and off lead as they advertised. After her boot camp, I could not get her to obey any commands off-lead, and barely obeyed on. Diamond State told me she needed to be trained by me on the lead with a shock collar before she would respond to my commands. This was a HUGE problem! The entire reason I opted for Board and Train (and told them beforehand) is because I am physically unable to train her myself. Now I have to chase her around the house for 30 minutes to get the lead on (because she won’t sit and stay) to train her myself, and I am entirely unable to have her still long enough to get the shock collar on. I can’t answer the door when neighbors stop by if she is not locked in the bedroom because she goes crazy when she sees people. I have rope burns on my hands from her pulling the lead trying to accept a package. When my friend comes by to help with cleaning, I leash Love, and it takes her 45 minutes to calm down. She will not obey when company is over and has pulled me out of my wheelchair onto the floor if I don’t let go of the lead first. My neighbors hate me because when she is out in the backyard she barks at them until they go inside. I can’t get down the steps into the backyard and she doesn’t come when commanded, so I can’t do anything to stop her barking. Love has shown no improvement after training with her as directed (as best I can with the lead).
