Shirley, we understand completely your frustration as we are equally frustrated. To be honest, we are overwhelmed with requests for Barn Hunt training and its has proven to be an ongoing issue that has been a challenge to keep up with. We have been on the search for a second Barn Hunt instructor, but we are also restricted in the days/times we can offer BH classes & lessons. We are working on a resolution, but have probably been a bit too ambitious on the timeline for it. We're glad that you have found an alternative option for you and your dog in the meantime. We are most certainly welcoming to new people - unfortunately the huge growth spurt we are experiencing is also working a bit against us in meeting everyone's expectations and it always hurts my heart personally when we fail at that. We want everyone to learn how enjoyable new sports are to participate in. We apologize again that your inquiries got lost in the muddle and hope that someday we can make it up to you and meet you and your pup.

First & foremost, no dog has ever been left unattended outside in this facility. In response to the claims made above, on this day Kai was here for a morning Camp session for which pick-up is 11-11:30am. This owner arrived @ 10am very obviously upset, asking if her dog was left outside alone. When communicated to the Camp Counselors, Kai was already back inside the facility & was beginning a play session. This owner was unwilling to listen to any explanation or conversation regarding their concerns before storming away. The confusion of the staff is understandable when you consider the circumstances of these outlandish claims. To be clear, the owner never physically witnessed any dog being left unattended & came to this conclusion based on the sound of barking alone. Kai is a working line Doberman w/ a level of drive that is for lack of a better term, abnormal & is extremely difficult to manage while away from his owner. All of this has been discussed at length w/ his owner & we have had many private training & personal meetings regarding his specialized care & needs. We reject the claim that DayCamp is not for all dogs because the very fact that Kai was a Camper here proves that. We have loved & cared for Kai as we did her previous dog, despite the fact that he does not fit the mold of a typical Camp dog. He has been given personal attention & care beyond that of any of our other campers due to this fact. We have been extremely transparent when it comes to the reality of Kai & his owner has acknowledged the difficulties that come with his care. We have continued to provide this specialized care at no extra cost so that Kai can have a safe outlet & his owner is able to accomplish work. The “distressed bark” as it is described here is the exact bark that we have heard every day that Kai has been a Camper for the past 3 years. His owner is well aware of the escalated vocalizations that he makes while he is here & away from her. This has also been an issue when other trainers have unsuccessfully attempted to keep him overnight. We have relayed that he does this barking inside of the special high-anxiety crate that we have solely for his use here, while he is working with someone, while he is next to someone & they are not immediately touching him, etc. It is what we call “demand” barking & its level is consistent with his behavioral issues. To make a claim that this dog was left unattended with no evidence or chance for explanation based solely off of hearing this bark is extremely unfortunate. The owner states she timed his barking for 4 minutes to which our Camp staff agrees is correct; this is the time that Kai was having his bathroom break, but not unattended. It's been mentioned to his owner multiple times that due to Kai’s separation anxiety there are times where he will refuse to go to the bathroom unless the person working w/ him stands on the opposite side of the gate. As we stand there watching him, he does this exact barking at us while we wait for him to go. This is what occurred on Friday. Once Kai did go, he was escorted back inside & continued w/ his play session which was the exact time that his owner came to pick him up. Kai was welcomed here despite exceptional behavioral challenges that his owner was more than well aware of. He was given ample outside time with eyes on him at ALL times. He was never left unattended despite the narrative that the owner decided for herself. In regards to Kai being in “full panic mode” as he was leaving, the owner is well aware that he's ALWAYS in an escalated state when leaving here. If anything, his routine being changed & stopped in the middle of a session would definitely contribute to this perceived state of being. All dogs ARE welcome at Camp w/ the exception of human aggression. We DID accept Kai & have watched our efforts w/ him produce positive results. Despite this it is clear that we were not able to satisfy the unrealistic expectations set before us for his care.

Hi Cleo! I'm sorry but no one by your name has ever attempted to contact us, so you may have us confused with another place. We strive to respond to all inquiries in a timely manner. However with so many platforms that ppl contact us on, we will inevitably miss a message. Inquiries for certain classes are also at times forwarded to the instructor for that class. If you do not hear back from them, please feel free to email and let us know so that we can resolve the issue. We aren't much for groveling and begging either and I think our reputation and rating speaks for the stellar customer care we are known for. If an inquiry that we failed to respond fast enough is deserving of 1 star from you, I am sorry that we are human and cant always get it right for everyone, much as we really try.
