Dog Busters K9 Obedience

I had the WORST EXPERIENCE with the trainer, Emily. I dropped our Goldendoodle off who already had a baseline of potty training (in our home) and he is very smart. Not to mention the breed overall is very intelligent, quick learners and excellent disposition. I dropped duke off with Becky who was always nice, responsive and attentive. We went over the main reasons for Duke being at dog busters. 1 Basic commands Sit stay come down etc. Come and stay were a huge commands for us because we have horses and he was chasing them. a. He can NOT DO ANY OF THEM STILL to this day. 2. Refresh on potty training. b. He was already 90% house trained but he is 1. So a little extra supervision while in there care was a good idea. No aggression issues, no age or medical issues that would have cause him to be hinder. As they state in their contract. Overall, just this 1 expectation and a polish on potty training and when staying for the $625 package which was 3 weeks of on site training I didn’t feel would be hard to achieve. I Checked in on him numerous of times. Every time I was given comments like “Great and learns quickly” “He is already in the swing of things” November 21st I asked if he needed to stay longer This was the response “ He’s doing really good on everything and hasn’t had any accidents inside I’ll double check his list tomorrow but I think almost 100% positive everything’s covered on it” Because I was willing to pay for longer if that’s what he needed. Never heard back from them. So I was under the impression we were to pick up November 25th as scheduled with a dog who could preform the basic commands. I picked up duke November 25th, 2019 to see were he was after the 3 weeks of training. I met Emily at the training location which is 1.5 hour from my home. Within 20 minutes of watching Emily with duke you could tell their was a lack of training. I had my 3 kids with me and she blamed them for his lack of training and responsiveness to commands. Duke was not even responding to the trainer when we stepped aside and sitting down observing in the training room. So we took him outside with since she suggested it was the kids distracting him. It was me, Emily and my 15 month old daughter on my hip. While SHE was demonstrating dukes “can” do list. Sit Sat “Duke come”commands he was not able to do any of them and MAYBE out of 4-5xs asked he would sit then get right back up. Overall not the training I was expecting from day one at pick up. They offered to keep duke. I told them I wanted him home for thanksgiving. I noticed dukes eyes were extremely red from what I didn’t know? I asked Becky why his eyes were so red and she said he didn’t like baths that he must have gotten soap in his eyes. I thought that’s odd? Ending result I would take him home and bring him back after the holiday. After getting him home I felt it was best for him not to return. Due to a change in his demeanor to timid, the redness in his eyes and a lack of confidence in the training facility it was not a good fit for us. My gut told me no! I called Becky to let them know I wasn’t going to bring duke back and I would appreciate a refund. I expressed all concerns. She told me to think on it and she understood my hesitation to bring him back. After much consideration my heart still felt it was not best and preferred at refund due to absolutely no training being able to be preformed from DAY 1. The excuses from Emily in regards to my kids. Dukes inability to display commands even in a one on one setting with myself Emily and my 15 month old daughter on my hip. The change in demeanor in duke’s behavior and the red eyes. Emily would not give me a full or even half refund! She gave 100. She couldn’t even make duke preform the task she stays in her contract that are “basics commands” they should leave with. I would not trust them with any of my dogs and highly recommend you find someone else to trust your babies with cause this place is not equip. Emily was unprofessional and completely unreasonable in her response about the issues.
