Dog Days Training Center

The expert training staff at Dog Days Training Center has completely altered the course of our family life in an amazingly a positive way. They have gracefully ushered us through countless challenging animal communication situations. They have dramatically assisted us in reaching a better understanding of and connection with our dogs. Our lives would be a disaster without their guidance. They are worth every penny.

Dog Days Training Center is one of the best, if not the best in Colorado! Laurie has a beautiful facility where the dogs are trained on acres of land that includes a gorgeous pond. Laurie and her staff are professional, skilled, and very knowledgeable about dog behavior and correcting bad behaviors. We sent our dog to boot camp because she is the size of a human and we wanted to make sure she is the best dog she can be. We also go back for board and train as well as group and one on one trainings. If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to board and train with Dog Days you should jump!

Laurie's techniques for training is by far the best I've experienced. Laurie has assistant trainers in her classes to help individuals work with their dog. Other trainers that I unfortunately went to before Laurie never had assistants to help, nor did they share knowledge the way Laurie does or allow open discussion during the lessons. Laurie makes sure that you, as the trainer of your dog, are gaining the skills needed. Laurie explains the hows and whys that owners don't always think of. The knowledge she shares with everyone is priceless. Laurie knows how to keep the dogs focused during the class for the best possible training outcome. Her compound is the perfect training center. You work with heeling inside a large building and outside with distraction. She has us work on heeling on and off leash through a field and wooded path that leads to a large pond and play area for the dogs to socialize and to train on duration, distraction and distance. Wow, what dog wouldn't look forward to the pond and/or romping grounds for their reward! And I personally get great joy watching my dog have the best time of his life! I've become confident in myself with the help of Laurie and her team and my dog now senses my confidence which has turned into rewarding training. Skye loves to work and I love to reward him for his hard work! Our dog hasn't been allowing me to check his paws, clip nails or check his ears and put cleanser in when needed without being unpredictable. At the vet he is so stressed that we can't control him. The last appointment my vet needed to be put him in a twilight sleep to care for his injured paw (the tranquilizer wasn't enough). But, in one private lesson with Laurie I can now put a thundershirt on him which I still can't believe he allows me to do, and I can check his paws and ears. I feel confident that one more Lesson with Laurie and I'll be able to take Skye to the vet and she'll be able to give him his rabies shot and Bordetella vaccine. It's all about knowing what to do with your dog in any given situation and Laurie gives you the knowledge and/or tools to make it happen. I live in Drake and drive an hour to get to Dog Days Training Center every Tuesday. Each week the training challenges Skye and I have are smaller and the rewards are plentiful. It's become clear to me with the training I've gotten that I have so many moments every day to interact with Skye and remind him of what he's learned. It's fun and I look forward to my commitment to have a dog that is happy and who makes my life a pleasure also.
