Dog Envy Dog Training

CAN'T RECOMMEND SAM AND DOG ENVY TRAINING ENOUGH! We adopted an adorable 60-pound lab mix from Charlotte Humane Society but quickly realized he had very little house training like chewing shoes and rugs. He also pulled the entire time he'd be on a walk and was simply too strong for my wife to feel comfortable handling. We chose to do the two week board and train program with Sam and it has been life changing. Our dog came back with the same fun personality we fell in love with but was well mannered in every way! He learned to walk right by our side at all time, what is and isn't a toy to chew on, and got some great socialization thanks to there being other dogs at Sam's house to hang out with! Sam does a great job of explaining the program in detail so we had our expectations set. There will definitely still be homework for you to do once your dog returns but Sam will walk you through it step by step and also offers two follow-up visits to help continue training anything else that comes up. We got photos every few days showing what kind of training lessons he was going through and how he was interacting with the other animals. My wife is now has zero concerns about walking him and we are both so happy he is a part of our family :) thank you Sam for everything, the training you provided our dog has changed his life and ours forever!

We couldn’t be happier with the process and results we’ve seen after using the board and train program with Dog Envy. We have 2 small rescue dogs and one of them is very happy and loving but craves attention and was bullying our other dog, so we decided to try the board and train program with Dog Envy. The entire process was wonderful! We met with the trainer, Sam, who is super nice, and she explained the process and what to expect. We received updates and pictures throughout the training process, which demonstrated that our boy was well cared for. Our Coda boy was a bit stubborn during training, and it was not his favorite thing, but Sam had patience with him and worked through it (and she also educated us on the importance of not giving in to him). When Coda came back home, we were given a training session, as training the dog also means training the owners (and the owners must be committed to the process!). Sam did a great job of teaching us all the commands that Coda had learned and made sure we were comfortable with them. The difference in Coda is amazing! He is still our sweet lovable happy doggy, but his behavior is so much better! Walks are more enjoyable now because I don’t worry about him barking at people or dogs for attention or nipping at our other doggy. I used to take Coda with me when running quick errands through a drive through because he loves riding in the car but had to stop because he barked incessantly at the workers and people walking by, but now he rides with me and is the best companion ever. Overall, Coda’s bad behavior has diminished greatly, and he now listens to us. We are very pleased with the results and love how helpful Sam has been throughout the process. We recommend Dog Envy Dog Training as the results are incredible!

Sam is amazing. We had two dogs who had poor leash manners. We were apprehensive about using an e-collar at first but she showed us the correct way to use them so that it does not hurt our dogs. She understands every dog is different and will take that into consideration while training. After the first two lessons there was a massive improvement. The remaining lessons were spent perfecting their leash manners and learning some new tricks. Keep in mind training your dog is not an immediate process, and will take work from you as well. She will give you everything you need for success. What you get out of her training depends what you are willing to put into it. We can now walk our dogs past strangers, other dogs, and even bring them into restaurants without worrying about them acting out.

Sam did an awesome job working with our stubborn 7 month old beagle! We were hesitant of using the e-collar but with the easy to control remote and ability to control the stem (vibrate) we became comfortable with using this device to control unwanted behaviors. Marley is now sitting, coming, staying and placing. Most of all, he’s no longer jumping on people or countertops! We are so grateful for what Dog Envy has done for us.

Samantha is without a doubt extremely knowledgeable about dogs, behavior & training. Zeke really liked her. She also was very accommodating in scheduling follow up sessions. She kept us in the loop while Zeke was training! With that said, we did the board & train, and to be honest, we haven’t seen any changes with Zekes behavior. She was always available to us when we had questions as well! We are using all the techniques Samantha has taught us, but without the e-collar, the commands are almost non existent. It may take me 5x to repeat a command for Zeke to do it. When the e-collar is on, its instant ( ofcourse). We stlll aren’t able to bring our dog to public places with us, which was one the reasons we sent him to obedient school. I don’t think the $1500 I spent on the training was worth it. I wish I would have gone to another training site with more results. Very disappointed.
