Dog Expert Cyd!

My dog is a rescue from Puerto Rico, and has been dealing with anxiety around strangers and body handling issues. I have struggled to find trainers who were willing to work with Astro, let alone make progress with him. Cyd has been a blessing! Her work with Astro has been incredible! Now people who have known Astro before Cyd stop me at the park to tell me what how Astro seems like a changed dog! This is all thanks to Cyd.

Cyd is a talented, personable and professional trainer. She has helped my dog with challenging behaviors, and taught me how to respond to effectively train him in a variety of situations. She brings humor and fun to all of the training sessions, and is always encouraging and supportive! I’ve had some dog trainers make me feel bad for not knowing more and she was the complete opposite. She was open to questions, and above all, showed so much love for my furry friend! I couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Here it is: Cyd is our go-to Dog Trainer. We run Wiggling Tails Daycare and whenever we have a pup who needs some training, we refer our clients to True Training 101. The clients are always grateful, as are we, because, thanks to Cyd’s training, the pups grow better behaved and practice more polite and appropriate behaviors. From overly zealous pups to those who have fear based issues, Cyd helps them become good walkers, good play pals and to feel safe and confident in their surroundings. If you need help with basics (sit, shake, etc) or if your pup has more complex behavior issues, Cyd knows her stuff and is the trainer for you!

I adopted my Jack Russell Terrier, Bode, from a family who was grieving the recent death of the family matriarch and Bode’s owner. He expressed intense separation anxiety to the degree that I could not leave the house for the first few weeks of our time together. Cyd worked with us and Bode started showing improvement almost right away. I can now leave him for hours without any of the barking, obsessive pacing and door staring that went on and broke my heart beforehand. Cyd also worked with Bode on his leash reactivity to pretty much everything around us. In a few sessions, she helped Bode transform from what I jokingly called “The Chainsaw” into a calm, peaceful pup who was actually ENJOYING his walks.

Cyd was our walker and worked with Kaya as one of her project pups while studying to get her Dog Training & Behavior Certification from DTIASF. During their few weeks together, Cyd was able to show us how to help prevent Kaya from jumping on every guest and every person on the street and everyone, basically. Kaya also seemed a bit calmer and less overly energized, in general. One day, Cyd showed us a video of her clicker training Kaya for looking at her and keeping focus and we were both astounded at the speed and accuracy of her skills. Kaya was enthralled! We also use her recall skills and Kaya reliably comes when called! Cyd educated us to the fact that as long as we keep up our end by maintaining the behaviors she trained, Kaya would remain the calmer, less jumpy, more responsive dog that she became from her training time with Cyd.
