Dog Retreat Center

We booked 5 days of daycare and training to get our Aussie, Tobi a little more socialization so he could eventually learn to coexist with our Corgi, Basil. We previously booked a dog training service with a different company last year and while it did help a bit, relying on e-collars all the time wasn’t really a sustainable solution. I absolutely love that the Dog Retreat Center teaches you how to communicate with your dog through reading their natural cues and body language. Supervised socialization was exactly what Tobi needed to learn manners when interacting with other dogs and gave us the tools we needed to help Tobi understand what we want from him as his favorite people. I honestly thought 5 days wasn’t going to be enough but our special boy has caught on so fast it was AMAZING to see Tobi and Basil chill and coexist with each other in the same room. I also want to acknowledge how awesome the staff was especially our trainer, Tiff. She was right, we just needed to trust a little more and man, we are blown away with the progress Tobi has made in 5 days of daycare and training. I couldn’t recommend Dog Retreat Center enough!!

Love it so far! The investment is turning into being well worth it with my rescue. Sticker shock at first. 😊 Training Management great to work with, extremely knowledgeable staff, great attitudes, and they get to know each of their dogs. I’m excited that by buying the training package (it was a lot for my budget) and getting the head start they continue to do boarding as needed, while continuing to teach manners. 🐕🫶 Dog school. Side note: Jeannie James loved this vid of one of their top trainers on my social (who referred me to Dog Retreat and D’Andre). Salt of the earth people who you can tell love animals. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Dog Retreat Center! Burkley stayed for 6 days for training and boarding, and we were so impressed from start to finish. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was being well cared for while also learning valuable skills. When we picked him up, we could already see a difference in his behavior. The team took the time to explain everything they worked on and gave us helpful guidance on how to continue reinforcing his training at home. It’s obvious they truly care about the dogs and treat them like family. If you’re looking for a place you can trust for boarding or training, we highly recommend Dog Retreat Center. Seems almost impossible to get a five star review from anyone these days, but for sure, Dog Retreat Center, has earn it. The owner D'Andra has really made her dream come true with integrity and compassion. We have two dogs that go to the daycare twice a week and then stay when we are out of town. We have tried a couple of different training facilities and by far, this is the best. We have one dog that is reactive and we were told she was aggressive by another center and was trained to use a muzzle. Within two days of a nine day stay, she was trained off the muzzle, evaluated and we were trained how to see the signs when she is stressed and she has done great. She has made friends at the daycare and really enjoys going. They have allowed her to be the loving dog she is. Our other dog is a social butterfly and has made lots of friends in the rowdy yard. Our dogs hate to travel in the car for long periods so this gives us relief that they are in good hands. They even send of pictures of how much fun they are having so we don't have to worry. I refer everyone I know to this center. They are loving, caring and very attentive. We will use them as long as we have dogs. Thank you Dog Retreat Center for all you do!!
