FirstBarkShe's been helping us with our fearful dog who came from a hoarding situation. He's had little to no socialization and is a very fearful dog. She has a very thoughtful approach and he's been making great strides gaining confidence. Really glad we are working with her as we are really seeing great progress with our little guy !

Alexandra completely changed how I saw dog training, and her methods are INCREDIBLY effective. Our dog learned and basically retained every command after one lesson of it being introduced. She also explained the methods and perspective of the training which makes it even easier to stay consistent with it.

When our Pomeranian, Olivia, was about a year old, we started working with Alexandra at Dog Savvy because of her reactivity to both dogs and strangers. We spent months searching for a trainer whose methods aligned with our values positive, choice based reinforcement and it was surprisingly difficult to find someone in a sea of trainers still using outdated alpha based or fear and force-driven techniques. In the beginning, we really had to trust the process. Olivia would bark at Alexandra for entire sessions, and progress felt slow. But little by little, Alexandra helped build Olivia’s confidence through choice-based games that not only provided mental stimulation but also taught her how to make good decisions on her own. Instead of relying on constant commands and prompts, Olivia learned to offer desirable behaviors naturally. What stood out most was that Alexandra never pushed Olivia beyond what she could handle. She wasn’t interested in suppressing behaviors or forcing compliance for the sake of appearances. Instead, she focused on helping Olivia genuinely overcome the fear driving those behaviors. That difference has been life-changing. Today, Olivia is not only excited to see Alexandra, but she’s also curious about and comfortable around strangers in a way we never thought possible. Watching her confidence grow and seeing such a positive change in her personality has been incredibly rewarding. I truly can’t express how much Alexandra and her training approach have positively impacted both Olivia and our family. If you’re looking for a trainer who prioritizes your dog’s emotional well-being and helps create lasting behavioral change through trust and positive reinforcement, I wholeheartedly recommend Alexandra. We quickly became overwhelmed with his barking and other behaviors, including how our other pets were changing because of the addition. We reached out to Lexie and she immediately gave helpful information over the phone, then a highly beneficial 2-hour consultation meeting. We have now completed our initial couple of months and our new guy has graduated from "Basic Manners"!! Lexie surprised us with his certificate and it has a spot right in the middle of the fridge for all to see. He is now calmer, has manners when people come over (no barking or jumping -- still needs reminders sometimes), sit, down, crate, goes to his bed when we are in the kitchen, and more. We have decided to continue our training with Lexie because we have seen such good progress with our little guy. We could have stopped here, but we see the potential and he loves training! So lets do it! Thank you, Lexie!!
