Brad, Ashley, and Emmy took what was an incredibly difficult and emotional situation for our family and turned it into something better than I ever could have imagined. Brad is a true professional with an incredible depth of knowledge about dogs and their natural instincts. From the very first assessment, it was clear that his approach was thoughtful, structured, and deeply informed by experience. I was genuinely amazed by how quickly our golden retriever, who had been exhibiting resource guarding behaviors, began responding once we started implementing Brad’s training methods. The work itself is nuanced, but Brad has a remarkable way of explaining things so they are easy to understand and practical to apply in everyday life. I cannot recommend The Dog Taoist highly enough. The tools he taught me were invaluable and I learned so much more about dogs in the initial 4 hour assessment than I have in 40 years of life!! 🤣 Brad’s guidance made a profound difference for both me and my dog. It's difficult for me to put into words the amount of respect and admiration that I have for Brad and Ashley and their methodologies. Initially I reached out to get some focused training for my 1 1/2 year-old busy-body shitsu mini poodle mix, Meeko. I had tried various things on my own, tried online dog trainers, even gone to other local facilities for training. I thought I was embarking on a journey with yet another dog trainer. That is not the case. What I have found since is that Brad, Ashley, and everyone at the Dog Taoist, not only train your dogs but they become closely bonded with them and their owners. They understand the difficulties from an owner's perspective, and are patient and understanding when answering questions and trying to help me understand how to help my dogs at home. I have never had a conversation with anyone before where I left completely understanding my dog's personality and my role in their training. In addition to my Meeko, I also began bringing my senior dog, Carlito, a few times a month. This was life-changing for him, and unfortunately he passed recently, but I know from the happy look on his face when I picked him up, that some of the best times he had in his last few months were at the Dog Taoist. If you're looking for a passionate, empathetic dog trainer, who can zero in on your dog's needs immediately, you need to look no further.

Brad and Ashley have been actively training my Yorkie, Jerry since he was a small pup. When I got him at 8 weeks and 2.5lbs he was severely undernourished and suffered from extreme anxiety. Brad insisted that he take Jerry for overnights with the pack so that he could adapt and learn that there was nothing to be afraid of when led properly by his person. He came back shortly after like a new dog. I can't thank the whole Dog Taoist team enough for all the years of ongoing support. They truly do feel like part of our family now. Jerry, like all yorkies, can be reactive to other dogs, but with the proper techniques I've learned from DT it's always been a correctable issue. I would highly recommend!
