I don’t usually write long reviews, but Brad, Ashley, and the entire Dog Taoist team deserve every single word. What they offer isn’t just dog training — it’s honesty, compassion, and a deep understanding of both dogs and humans that you simply don’t find anywhere else. From the start, they made everything feel clear and manageable. They were upfront about what my dog needed and what I needed, and they communicated with such kindness that I never once felt judged. Their honesty is refreshing, and their compassion is real. They treated my dog with incredible care and intuition, and the results speak for themselves. My dog is now my full-time shop dog — calm, confident, respectful, and absolutely perfect both on-leash and off. Customers comment on her behavior constantly, and I give all the credit to Dog Taoist. The transformation has changed my home life and my work life. My dog is happier, more balanced, and truly thriving. And I feel more confident and grounded as an owner thanks to everything they taught me. I’m deeply grateful for their integrity, their patience, and the heart they put into every single dog and human they work with. Dog Taoist is the real deal, and I recommend them with my whole heart. I can’t say enough about my experience at the Dog Taoist. Brad and Ashley are incredibly kind, patient and understanding people. I came across their page when a friend of mine was posting his dog at their training facility. I reached out to him to see what he had to say about his experience and I’m so glad I did. At our assessment Brad took the time to answer my many, many, many questions (and still does) and address any concerns. When I learned they used prong collars I almost backed out. I told my husband no way, I couldn’t do it. They took the time to educate me and put me at ease with how this training tool is used. This training has been invaluable to our family. We now have two young nieces and I’m more comfortable having them at the house now that we have more control of the dogs. Before this we would take the dogs out individually bc Louie was too rough with Ella and I never thought he’d learn to just be nice to her. Well here we are enjoying our backyard with both dogs outside at the same time and Louie respecting her boundaries. He needs reminders sometimes but that’s ok bc the progress has been incredible. I love that the Dog Taoist understands that these dogs are pets… Family. And while we still need to respect the species they understand that we are training them to just be able to be obedient harmonious co existing w their humans and that I don’t need them to be hyper obedient show/work dogs. Fantastic! We cannot recommend Brad and Ashley enough. They are the very best kind of dog trainers - passionate, caring, thoughtful, and understanding. The moment we brought our dog in for his initial assessment, Brad had him sized up immediately in terms of what the problem was, and what was needed. They worked diligently with him throughout, and made sure that we did the same when he was home. He got a full report card every day after training. Even better, they are flexible and allowed us to pick up/drop off a bit early or late as needed so we could work around our schedules. The results have been astounding. Our family members dubbed it a "miracle" how calm and neutral our formerly crazy dog has become, and we owe it all to Brad and Ashley's persistent efforts. We would recommend them to anyone, unreservedly.
