During class we will work on obedience commands such as walking on a loose leash, sit, down, stay and coming when called. We will also address other behavioral problems such as jumping up and bolting through doors.
The intermediate obedience class is designed to help you continue building the skills necessary to create a well-behaved dog in public. In this class, we’ll create scenarios that mimic real world conditions to prepare your dog for situations that are often found in public settings.
During our puppy obedience training, we will discuss common problems new puppy owners experience, including housebreaking, crate training, jumping up on people, digging, chewing, playful biting, and more. You will walk away with effective solutions to help break your puppy of these behaviors.

Is it free or is it paying for training school dog?
Nothing there is free, with that said every service they offer is of great value plus they truly are animal lovers.
We have a 6 mo. old English Cocker Spaniel. His name is Cooper.
He likes to jump up on people to see them & to be petted. What is the best way to stop him from doing this?
I had to teach mine to sit before i tought him to not jump up.
Once your dog sits. Then use whatever motivates it. Example (treats, pats, ect...) Get a clicker. When it responds to a clicker give it a treat. Eventually as you give a command followed by a click and get a response instantly then try using just your voice. But definatly use whatever motivates him. For jumping i tried ( off ) and it worked great! As (down) worked for say a couch and (stay) for well..... Someone at the door ect.... Hope this helps.

I walk into him so that he falls backwards. And then I say oops. But if I were you, I would call dog trainers Workshop. They have awesome instructors. And there will be lots of things along the way that you're going to want to teach your new puppy. Enjoy.
we have a golden retriver that is about 8 months old----she is very fond of bitting our feet and likes to aggravate another dog we own. She does pee in the house and we have spanked her for that, but she will do it again . can you help us?
Definitely give them a call. Spanking just does not work for house breaking and can damage your relationship with your dog. DTW can help you with this and the biting issue, giving you much better "tools" to work on your dog's issues. Don't wait!

Give them a call. These issues are covered regularly at DTW. And since Goldens were bred to work with their mouths, this is a common issue.
We live in Union and it would be to far for a "daily" commute. We could handle a couple of times a week. Is boarding there and training a viable choice or even available?
Boarding and training are both available. Any given training class (different levels and types available) meets once per week. Lots of evening classes makes it easy on your work schedule.

Dog trainer's workshop has enough credit and accounts that show the power they have and it only will working if you continue to practice what they teach you, if you let go of it, then your dog will go back to its old habits and i remember being told that only 4 dogs have gone back to their old ways

We felt their care and concern and they shared our sadness when each dog passed away. No amount of money can buy what this place provides: scrupulous cleanliness, personalized care and supervised play. Most of all, our dog is always greeted by name, with enthusiasm! She trots on in with hardly a backward glance and greets us happily but calmly when we return. Never a worry while we are away on vacation! We LOVE this place!

Louie would jump on us as well as our guests when excited and he would overreact to praise. Louie knew the basic commands, but he did not always follow the commands.
We were very impressed with how our trainer, Tracy, taught him to follow through with each command. We can see good progress in our dog's general obedience!
Tracy communicated with us frequently during Louie's stay to keep us informed of Louie's progress.
Tracy was very professional and patient with all of our many questions. Tracy explained in detail how to continue to train Louie at home and why it works.
This was a great investment with positive results. We would highly recommend Dog Trainers Workshop and Boarding.

Brought our dog here for a 2 week training stay. She's a pretty good girl, but she had a few annoying habits. She's so much better now. We really liked all of the staff we dealt with, and appreciated the detailed updates we received every few days.

We having been using the facility since our girls were puppies. They did training there and they've been doing a lots of daycare for the last 2 years. However, the last 90-day package of daycare that I bought had restrictions. We could only could do 2 days a week and never on Wednesdays. Wednesdays were reserved for small dogs only, so don't ever have anything come up on a Wednesday or your screwed. Reservations could only be done for up to 2 weeks ahead of time which was extremely annoying . The website did not work. They never got the request. Was told I could email but it was just as easy for me to go in person. Even with me going in person there were times where I was told the reservation was confirmed and then was told that no they were not scheduled which caused a lot of inconvenience. Our girls loved everybody and loved going to daycare but we will not be purchasing any more days since we can only do 2 days in a week, never on Wednesdays and only 2 weeks ahead, ridiculous.
