Dog Training For Owners

Please notice that all the negative reviews come from people who didn't even work with Kelvin or Kathy. I came to Dog Training for Owners on recommendation from a friend who used them for her own dog (and has a spectacularly trained dog). After my 6 sessions, not only do people comment on the noticeable difference in behavior in my dog now as compared to before, *I* feel infinitely more confident in working with my dog. Is she a perfect dog? No, but that's because I haven't put in the work to make her so. After working with Kelvin, though, I have the tools and confidence to train my dog into whatever type of dog I want. 100% recommend.

I completed the training last year, so my review is long overdue. Before I started I read the current reviews, for the first time, and it seems to me some people don’t know what they’re looking for. I chose to have my dog training here because I wanted to be a part of it, and it is called ‘dog training for owners’… That’s a big surprise for those looking to have the work done by someone else. This is a class for You to learn how to train Your dog, which is how it should be. My dog was a pup; I couldn’t imagine leaving her during the bonding period with someone else, or to assume she would listen to me after I brought her home. I think of kids saying ‘you’re not my mom’ when someone other than the mom tries to correct them. One of the places I looked into was where you drop your dog off for a couple weeks and pick it up ‘trained’ for $2500. The money didn’t bother me as much as leaving my puppy with others to train. What would they do if she didn’t get it right, would they discipline her? That’s when I knew I had to be there. Kelvin was my teacher, and I saw results the first day because I wanted to learn what to do. This was a professional environment, not one where you go to make friends or chit chat. Now the bad news. I did not pay enough attention to one area and am feeling it today. I do not have children nor does my family. I was instructed to visit places where children were so my pup could experience them. My pup just turned a year old last month and gets afraid around kids and growls when they are running around. I hope it’s not too late to start. My next dog won’t have to go for professional training, unless I forget what to do. It’s all on you; you get out of it what you put in.
