Dog Training Personalized

I had been looking for a dog training facility that did one on one classes and I found dog training personalized and I’m so glad I did. I put in an inquiry form and almost immediately heard back! Oliver was super reactive and had barely any obedience training. Steve helped up tremendously! Before training I was not even able to walk my dog Oliver at the park when there were other people there. Now I can take him on a walk whenever and wherever and not be embarrassed or worried about his safety! I am beyond grateful for the tools and confidence Steve gave us to continue on our training journey!!

If you have a reactive dog, this is the place for you!! Our dog Jodi is one of the sweetest, goofiest dogs you’ll ever meet. However, the second we would step outside with her, if she saw another dog or person, she would lose her mind and bark like she was actively being attacked. It was very scary. We had gone to a different trainer back in Wisconsin that was supposed to be the master of all dog trainers. However, they were unable to fix Jodi’s reactivity. We had lost all hope at that point. Then when we moved to Ohio, we decided to give training one more try and I am so glad we did. Steve was so kind and gentle with Jodi and helped us really understand where her reactivity was coming from. After being given the training tools and skills we needed, Jodi is a brand new dog. We can take her outside without walking on eggshells and being terrified we may run into another person or dog. We can take her on walks!! We even took her to a walking path in a public park!! I have cried so many happy tears because I feel like Jodi was given a new lease on life. She now has a lifetime full of adventure ahead of her, all thanks to Steve.

Steve was a fantastic trainer! We have not one, but TWO puppies that needed training. Everywhere we go we get compliments about how well behaved our puppies are, even more impressive considering they are less than 1 year old. Steve has been thorough, detailed and extremely helpful. We have extra appreciation for the actual training supplies he helped us with (collars, lashes, crates, other equipment, etc.). We would recommend his private and group classes to any of our friends or family in the Dayton area. Steve was also flexible with our hectic schedule. We also genuinely enjoyed getting to know Steve and his story. 5/5 if you are looking for a dog trainer - look no further!

I highly recommend Dog Training Personalized with Steve Dunham! We walked into our first class with our German shepherd doodle puppy and I could hardly control him. By the time that we left the FIRST lesson, I was able to walk him out of the building without him pulling me! It was an amazing transformation! My dog has only developed better manners with every class with Steve and responds to my commands. He was very open to suggestions on what I wanted to work with on with my dog and tailored his lessons to the behaviors that i felt were the most important. The instructions and exercises that Steve gives you are easy to understand and implement at home. And as long as you keep consistent and practice with you dog, by the end of your training session you will be amazed at your dog's progress, I know I am!!
