Dogability Dog Training

Dogability is an amazing program that I would recommend to anyone who needs help with training their dog! Our dog graduated from Dogability a month ago and the quality of our lives is greatly improved. He does not pull on walks or jump on us as a result of over-stimulation. We and our dog are able to be much safer, which grants us peace of mind. We also take him off-leash to parks and he is doing great on that front. While he still exhibits an immense amount of excitement around other dogs and humans, he is greatly improved and we continue to work on desensitization by exposing him to dogs at Pet Wagon daycare and boarding (which is run by the same owners as Dogability). This consistency allows us to maintain his training even while he's having fun at daycare. Juan and Samantha are extremely knowledgeable, competent, and caring for the dogs that they train. I knew my dog was well taken care of. I appreciated the informative training sessions when it was time for the dogs to graduate, and the program is run very well. Highly recommend!

Our dog Charlie just completed the Dogability month-long training course. We were at a point with our high energy, reactive Wheaten Terrier where we needed to do something to get some of his behaviors under control. Juan and Samantha have literally transformed our lives with their training. Juan is a passionate and gifted trainer with in-depth knowledge of animal behavior. We cannot say enough that could ever convey how grateful we are for the care and commitment to Charlie while he was training and boarding. We are a transformed family who has been given the physical and mental tools to better handle Charlie and to have an enjoyable life with him.

I'm so grateful I found Juan and Dogability Dog Training. I have a very energetic golden retriever puppy and the transformation he's undergone after 5 weeks with Juan is really remarkable. He's very responsive to commands, has 100% recall, and now has a discipline that makes both my life and his much easier and enjoyable. Taking him for a walk is no longer physically or mentally exhausting, he no longer demands all of my attention during the work day, and he no longer exhibits problematic behavior like jumping and nipping. The off-leash training has provided a freedom to Charlie that he didn't have before, which has made him a much happier, confident, and content dog. Our relationship has grown much stronger as a result. Most importantly, I learned the skills from Juan to reinforce his training to ensure Charlie retains the skills he's developed. I feel very fortunate that we have somebody right here in Durham who is as thoughtful and dedicated to dog training as Juan is. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Our two dogs (8 and 3 yrs old) recently completed the board and train program with Dogability. Juan took excellent care of them, shared updates along the way, and really helped us understand our dogs’ behavior. They’re totally transformed, and we feel like we are educated to be able to continue their training. They didn’t learn fancy tricks - they learned how to be companions. They know the important commands really well: place, stay, here, loose leash walking and off leash manners. I think the Dogability program is very unique and successful compared to other board & train programs I researched. We are very grateful our dogs got to work with Juan!
