Dogs By Andy - Greensboro

I brought my Great Dane Nick, to DeWayne at Dogs By Andy slightly before his first birthday. He is now almost 2 and a half. Nick had been to two other obedience training schools in three different classes. While he did respond well his behavior just wasn't what should be. So I found out about Dogs By Andy from a good friend of mine. The first day I took Nick for training he was terrified when got out of the van and would not enter the building. I had to tackle him because he broke free from his leash. I-40 runs parallel to the training site and I was not gonna let my dog get away even if it meant taking a couple of bites. As I was on the ground holding to him, DeWayne came outside and immediately started to take control with his leash and got Nick inside. From that point on DeWayne gave me the best service and training for any Dog I've had. It was a fantastic experience and now I can take Nick anywhere, even without a leash and he will listen to all my commands and stay by my side. It was the 12 week version with me attending once a week. We finished 10 weeks before Covid hit and we completed the final two weeks late last summer, although within the first six weeks Nick was a totally different dog. DeWayne was always professional and courteous and to say he knows how to completely handle a dog is just an understatement. I will go back with another dog without hesitation.

We have been members of the Dog’s by Andy family for almost 5 years now and are so thankful for Dewayne! He is an excellent trainer who truly cares not only for your Dog’s success but yours as an owner! Our big boy Gus LOVES Dewayne and Joe and with their help, our very protective Gus, has become more manageable in situations that I would have never but him or myself in before! He is a work in progress but every time they work with him, and myself lol, he gets better and better!! Highly recommend them not only for every day training but especially if you have a problem child!!

I did the three week boarding with Jeff who did a great job training my dog & the harder part the “human.” Recently we needed help again as we had started slipping into bad habits. Dewayne immediately scheduled an appointment for us. Dewayne is passionate about setting the dog & human up for success. He expertly guided my dog then trained me again with commands & how dogs think. We accomplished so much in one session. Our son recommended Dogs By Andy because of the good experience they had in training their newfie. Cody is a year old maltipoo who is sweet and fun but was not very compliant. We are absolutely thrilled and amazed at how after ten training sessions he is compliant beyond our expectations. Even our small grand children can make him respond to commands. In addition, DeWayne was very helpful in teaching us how to properly give commands to Cody and encourage him.
