Dogs ‘N Action

We consider ourselves so fortunate to have found TADSAW, who directed us to Teresa Tuttle, owner of Dogs-n-action. As a professional canine trainer who has her own training business, she also trains dogs for "TRAIN a DOG SAVE a WARRIOR'' (TADSAW); "VETERANS - ACTIVE DUTY - FIRST RESPONDERS - CHILDREN & COMMUNITY'' (TADSAC). Teresa was instrumental in my service dog, Moxie and I becoming TADSAW Service Dog Team TSD1491 on April 21st, 2024. Without her extensive patience/empathy/understanding, KNOWLEDGE, and professionalism, Moxie and I would not have been able to accomplish this distinguished milestone in my journey to recovery. Teresa not only guided us to work fluidly with ease, but she also had to "undo" 2 and ½ years of incorrect instruction by a different "dog trainer." Indeed, it took only one session with Teresa to 'switch' Moxie to the other side of my body to lessen the relentless pain from a fractured neck I had reinjured. Teresa said Moxie could learn to work on either side, and in fact, did that in just one session. Not only did she teach me how to 'switch' Moxie to my good side, but she also showed me how to get Moxie not to ‘pull' on the leash - that too was accomplished with ease beginning with the first session. Before I found Teresa, I was hesitant, tentative, and felt we (Moxie and I) were never going to be able to go out in public. I also thought it would be impossible to change the incorrect/negative (almost punitive strategies) we had originally learned. Teresa was instrumental in helping me to overcome, or at least decrease my personal obstacles via correctly training Moxie. I came to find that Teresa's training (using positive reinforcement) was exactly what we needed. It has been life-changing, in every way possible: we can leave the house, we can go into any public place with ease and trust. Moxie and I are best friends and now that she is trained as my service dog to assist specifically with my individual disability(ies), my entire life has changed. Thanks to Teresa, I have become much more hopeful in my journey to recovery and am taking huge strides toward the same every day. THANK YOU, TERESA! I OWE MY NEWFOUND FREEDOM TO YOU! I feel much more confident and trusting because my service dog, Moxie, and I, work together as one. Cheers! Tom Dawson

Teresa has been beyond helpful and caring in our complicated situation with a fear-aggressive dog. She is incredibly knowledgable about all things dog, and it’s clear she cares deeply about her clients. We would hire her again and again, and will shout her praises to the rooftops. We haven’t been to a group class, but her private sessions (in the comfort of our own home!!) have been wonderful. She is also always willing to text/call with me about anything we need and questions we have.
