I have thought about this complaint a good while, and it appears the facts are thus... You arrived late to the first night of class. It happens. I totally get that, I have lived here since 1991, and our old location only had one or two ways to get there. No big deal. But. Upon arriving at a class *already in progress* you struck up a conversation with a student already seated. Which did indeed >interrupt< my class (already in progress). I have rarely found it necessary to rap my clipboard, although I did have occasion to do that again recently, when the ADULTS in my class found each other more interesting than the class. Every single person who pays to bring their puppy to class deserves an equal opportunity to hear the material being presented. While I might not be speaking directly to someone at that moment, very often the information being shared can prove useful to others. I am sorry that I was unable to get your attention in a manner which did not upset and/or offend you (for several years), but I've gotta believe I would have jumped off that bridge at some point anyway during a 4 week class. Personally? Were I to arrive late to a class, I would try to be as unobtrusive as possible. That's what most folks do.
