Jessy and the entire Dogworx team completely changed our lives. Last fall, we rescued our dog, Morty, from a shelter. All we knew was that he was severely malnourished (30 lbs) and desperately needed a loving home. What we didn't know was that he was a Belgian Malinois. The shelter simply listed him as a shepherd mix... After a few weeks of regular meals, he was back to full Malinois energy, and we quickly realized we were in over our heads. We tried group classes, private trainers, books, and online resources, but nothing was the right fit. Morty had clearly experienced things we'll never know, and he needed someone who truly understood working dogs—their drive, their intelligence, and their need for structure. Without the right guidance, it's easy to see why so many Malinois end up being surrendered or misunderstood. We were determined not to let that happen to Morty. Jessy recognized that the original four-week program wouldn't meet his needs. Instead of simply completing the package we'd purchased, she honestly recommended keeping him longer so he could make meaningful progress. That integrity and commitment to doing what was best for *our dog* spoke volumes. After more than 10 weeks, the transformation has been incredible. Morty is still the goofy, affectionate puppy we fell in love with, but now he has the tools to succeed. He can relax and actually take naps. He listens instead of tuning us out. He explores the world with his nose instead of his teeth. We can safely take him on walks because he has learned how to regulate himself rather than react to everything around him. One thing I especially appreciate is how Jessy changed my perspective on training tools. Like many people, I was skeptical of e-collars and prong collars. She took the time to educate us and show us that, when used correctly, they're communication tools—not punishment. Our previous trainers relied almost entirely on treats, which simply wasn't effective for a dog recovering from severe malnourishment, where food was his highest-value resource. Jessy's approach gave us a clear, consistent language that finally made sense to Morty. Throughout the process, she sent regular updates, photos, and videos, while always being honest about his progress and the work still ahead. The transition home was just as thoughtful, with a thorough training session and videos we can revisit anytime we need a refresher. They taught us how to understand him. They gave us the confidence to meet him where he is and helped us become the family he needed. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dog Worx Academy Calsey came home a different dog after six weeks with Dog Worx Academy and we couldn’t be more grateful. They provide weekly update with some photos and some weeks had a video. Our dog struggled with prey drive, reactivity, properly greeting others, and other behavioral issues. Her confidence is night and day and the obedience / behavioral changes are evident. We started with a four-week program, but Jessy asked if she could keep Calsey for two more weeks. We were hesitant — we missed our dog and the added cost gave us pause — but she walked us through exactly why and worked with us on solutions to make the extension work. That transparency and genuine investment in Calsey’s progress told us everything we needed to know. Jessy’s focus is laser-locked on the dog: behavior, mental state, training progress. That’s her priority and it shows. Fair warning — she’s so dialed in on the dogs that some of the scheduling/logistics details may require a follow-up from your end, but honestly that’s a trade I’d make every time. Priscilla handled our final-day session and was incredible — walked us through everything hands-on with clear instructions and take-home videos so we could actually maintain what they built. We’ve had Calsey back only a few days and she’s already responding well to correction, even mid-boundary-test phase. We’ll be back for boarding and refreshers without question.
