Dokken's Oak Ridge Kennels

We brought our labradoodle Charlie to Dokkens last January-March for the 8 week obedience training after hearing from a neighbor that has had 3 dogs go through the Dokkens program. We were lucky to have Alainah as our trainer. I could write a book about how our Dokkens experience was, but i can sum it up with FANTASTIC. Along with family, neighbors, everyone saw the change in Charlie. We can now enjoy time up north without him swimming (yes, swimming away from us) and running away. We also have enjoyed having visitors and not worrying about Charlie jumping on every neighbor. When on walks people ask how we got Charlie to listen so well and we say Dokkens. People also ask us if it was worth the money and we tell them it has been the best money we have spent. We look forward to bringing Charlie back for boarding and refresher courses as well. So thank you Dokkens!

We got our dog back after his intermediate training. What a game changer. Our dog (British Lab) has a ton of energy a drive and has been hard to temper down. After his training we now are able to work with him and he actually listens. He doesn’t run crazily around the house getting in to trouble. When we eat for dinner, he will stay in his “place” like he was taught. He is a great home dog now, and good thing as we were starting to regret getting a dog. I can say we are happy to have him now as a sweet and loving dog that still has energy, but manageable. I have yet to hunt with him, but got to see him in action at Dokken. He has been trained to force fetch as well. They treated him well and it was money well spent.

We brought our pup here for their 8 week obedience program. He was already very sweet and smart, but did have some issues that needed work. Things like jumping on our toddler and anyone else that came over, endless pulling on walks, impulse control, hearding behaviors towards people, nipping, etc. He is still our same sweet loving boy, but with a whole new set of manners. I am so impressed! We can now take walks with no pulling, and he is not distracted by the many dogs and squirrels in our neighborhood. He is no longer jumping on our toddler or us. Here and there he does still test us as he is still a toddler pup, but Dokken trained us too. So we know exactly what to do and how to hone his energy back in so he can follow his commands. His trainer was so wonderful, nice, informative, and answered my many questions. She also worked great with our 4 year old when he came to training sessions. Could not recommend enough!
