Down Dog Studios

I love Down Dog Studios! I first brought my adult rescue dog (Zula) there a couple years ago because she was very skittish and not very confident. By the end of the basic class she was an awesome student and learned so much. They use clicker training and positive reinforcement and it worked so well for Zula. This year we got a Labrador puppy (Goose). He did both puppy classes and I feel they are really going to set him up to be an amazing dog. He learned a lot of skilled like being introduced to new objects and vet equipment, how to play with other dogs, and basic commands. I will recommend anyone with a dog to give them a try.

I've attended three different courses so far with my 6 month old German Shepherd puppy. The instructors, Kish and Jen, are incredibly knowledgeable with positive reinforcement techniques and marker training. They expertly use barricades to help the dogs ignore each other and focus on their owners. My dog is excited-reactive with other dogs and with their help we've reduced his reaction radius significantly, resulting in way less barking and pulling. We can walk down our road (FOUR houses with reactive dogs and only one way out since it's a long cul de sac) without him making a peep. Other dogs he hasn't met/heard before are way more interesting than the daily barkers we pass, but with their Find It, pre-reaction clicking, and climbing the leash techniques he only perks up a bit at passing dogs and is easily redirected when we can see him about to react. Fantastic trainers.
