Dragon’s Tooth Dog Training

So Sam made me cry!! A little back story. I have a forever foster 10 year old boxer/pittie mix with a heart condition. She was not doing well in the shelter and I saw her photo on FB and fell in love. Ellie was super reactive to almost everything but especially other dogs, which I have loads of in my neighborhood. I found Sam from the Angels of Assisi website and he came to my house. We had to start with the very basics because we had no history of this beautiful 10 year old dog. I was nervous, unsure, and overwhelmed. Sam was so patient and understanding. Fast forward to lesson 4 and Ellie and I are walking together. No pulling, no reactivity, just a old grandma walking her dog. I started crying. I did not think it would happen but Sam had faith in both Ellie and me. Thank you Ryleigh for all the scheduling you had to do for me and the amazing communication throughout our training! Thank you Sam and Ryleigh for everything you have done for sweet, sweet Ellie and me!

I was skeptical as to whether or not training would work for our dog. Other trainers in the area had not given us much hope, but Sam was different. He wasn’t only willing to work with our dog, but was able to map out a plan for us and explain why he thought it would work. We did a board and train with him, and I highly recommend this option. I got what I paid for, high quality training with lasting results.

We adopted Eowyn (Winnie), a one year old doodle, four months ago. She was a handful: chasing our cat, being rough with us and our elderly dog, ignoring our commands, and jumping on furniture. We sent her to board and train at Dragon's Tooth, and she came back a new dog! So much calmer and more obedient. We love how Sam teaches social skills using positive reinforcement, developing trust, and helping her behave independently not from fear or force. We don't need to yell or pull. We also really love the continued communication and support to help us continue to maintain her skills and learn new ones. Our household is so much more relaxed now! Sam is a fantastic trainer and I highly recommend him! We adopted a Great Pyrenees puppy and our senior puggle was very reactive towards her. Our main goal was neutrality between the two dogs. We not only were able to accomplish neutrality, but also able to make so much more progress on training with both of them. Additionally, Sam was very accommodating to scheduling and made things extremely easy. Extremely happy with Sam and his entire program!
