We used Dusty Dog Training for our dog Thor. We really wanted to work on his reactive/nervous behavior and his over excitement or FOMO as we liked to call it. We can’t say enough good things about Dusty and Kathini. We really appreciated all of the work they did to both train Thor and us. We have seen such an improvement at home. We also really appreciate all of the support we receive even after the board and train program is over. That has been so helpful for us in continuing his training. We would highly recommend Dusty Dog Training.
Best all around services and training around! The attentiveness and love our dogs received while in their care was above and beyond what we could have even imagined. 10/10 recommend and advise everyone to send their dogs here from boarding to training!

We rescued a Pittbull mix that had been abused and had never had any sort of training. Although sweet with people, he was extremely dog aggressive and had a strong prey drive. We thought we would never be able to bring him out in public. In only three weeks, Dustin had transformed our dog. Although we will probably never get rid of his prey drive, we can now manage it. The biggest improvement was with his dog aggression. We still keep him on a leash in public (like everyone should do!) but he is able to mostly ignore other dogs and keep his attention on us. He listens so well, and even fetches and brings the ball right back to us. He went from us first thinking he was deaf because he wouldn't even acknowledge commands to him sitting and laying on command. He will even sit and stay for a whole minute as we walk very far away and then comes running to us only on demand. Personalized dog training is expensive and was not an easy choice for us, but after the training was over, it was clear that it was the best thing we could have done. Seriously, it is night and day. Knowing what I know now, I would highly recommend getting your dog trained and trained by Dustin, especially if he is big, scary, and strong. Ian

I initially booked a two week board and train to do exposure training for Willow but after the first week Dustin had let me know that Willow needs more than just environmental training but he needs to learn how to work through his reactivity through behavior modification. We both agreed that 3 weeks would be best for him. Not having your companion for 3 weeks feels like forever but Dustin and Kathini would send me pictures and videos every week. We also scheduled times for me to come see his progress and also for me to learn how to properly use the tools and processes they set in place for Willow! The first week, we took a walk around the neighborhood, the second week we took a walk around Lili'uokalani park and for the final week Kathini brought him to our new home and made suggestions on how to best acclimate him to this new place. I could rant and rave for hours about how grateful I am to have two amazing trainers support Willow and I, helping us get to a point where I can enjoy life outside of the home with Willow. Even after the board and train program, Kathini and Dustin are always just a text away with any questions I may have. I appreciate you both so much!!!
