The training our dog Buddy received was absolutely fabulous! Makayla is outstanding and worked and adapted with us to customize training to our needs. On our walk last night, a person that came across us said "What a well behaved dog you have." Never ever have those words been used in a sentence about Buddy. Thanks Makayla! Makayla was amazing! She was an excellent trainer and really cared about our dogs and helping us solve some issues we are having with normal dog training but also reactivity and our dogs fighting. Her rates are very reasonable and she is very flexible with training plans. She adapted everything to our specific needs, included our whole family, and let us do a session with both dogs for no extra cost. Truly wonderful experience!

My wife and I have put both of our pups through training with East Bay Dog Spot. We have done the All Things Puppy, Beginner Basics, and Beyond the Basics classes and a review is long overdue. TLDR/BLUF: Makayla is an excellent trainer for both your dogs and you. If you are even entertaining the idea of dog training, sign up and don't look back. The focus on positive reinforcement and minimizing negative training feedback is refreshing. We've all seen animals that cower in fear of their owner, you won't find that here. Dogs are allowed to grow and develop confidently, leading to happy dogs (and happy you). Another key aspect is that Makayla trains YOU on training your dog. You learn ways to tweak training to maximize success, all while engaging in a fun classroom environment that is guaranteed to have you smiling and laughing. It is clear Makayla cares deeply about your dog(s) and your relationship to them. At the end of each class, there is typically a short question period where you can address any concerns with your pet and get useful/actionable answers. To add icing to the cake, Makayla makes all class materials available on the East Bay Dog Spot, even after graduation. This allows you to reference materials if you forget how to do an exercise.
