Einstein Dog Training

I highly recommend Einstein Dog Training to everyone I know! Our dog Camper came to Dan for the day train program as a reactive and fearful 1-year-old rescue. I loved this option of the 7-week day train program where he could work with Dan during the day and then have our private lesson when I came to pick him up in the afternoon so I could learn everything and practice at home until the following week when a new skill was learned. This way it was not overwhelming and when I had questions we could go over it together the next week. We had tried two other training programs before and had “stalled” out with his reactivity (he would be okay at his threshold/safe distance but was inconsistent on his reactions/lunging any closer in). We camp every other weekend in the summer and really wanted to be able to bring him with us to do the trails and swim since he loves to do that with us! Dan helped show us the training strategies, tools, and homework to work with Camper in real-life situations with an individualized plan for his sensitive personality towards strangers. We also did a private lesson to introduce Camper to dock diving which we loved and was able to apply the techniques to our dock/lake at home with our kids! We continue to do our group classes every week (which the cost for these are included for one whole year with the day training program!) and they have been a game-changer for Camper. We can coexist with other dogs and their owners on pack walks, close-proximity drills, and outings into pet stores, etc. with Rachel and Dan leading. Camper (and I!) have become so much more confident in his training exercises and out on our own on hikes/walks. I can’t tell you how grateful we are to now be able to take him on a hike without being fearful of coming across another person/dog and not knowing what to do/having him react like before!

Einstein Dog Training has been without a doubt a game changing blessing; now buckle up for the story! Picture it, Michigan 1996 and a 3yr old little girl falls madly in love with the spotted dogs in a Disney movie and day dreams every day for her very own Dalmatian puppy. As it turns out, dreams can come true and 28years later, that little girls is all grown up and finally has the dalmatian puppy that she begged Santa for every single Christmas. But, as they say "be careful what you wish for".... and within a matter of 10 months, that 28 year dream would start to feel like a nightmare. My Dalmatian that I would have given almost anything to have, decided that my life wasn't spicy enough, and she was rapidly growing into a menace. She would not listen to anybody for anything. I started leash training with her from the very first day I brought her home, but during her first year of life, she started planning out her own adventures on our walks and was becoming unruly; what was supposed to be fun for both of us, would end up being fun for neither of us... She would start fights that were completely random and unprovoked and attack my fiancees dog for simply existing. The fights that she would start would become more frequent and more viscious; but only if I was the one home. Fights never occured if my fiancee was watching the "kids". One of their fights led to a trip to the Vet for a toe bean laceration. It had gotten to the point that I was about one dog fight away from my relationship ending.... But then, a friend recommended Einstein Dog Training, and my fiancee and I had exhausted all other ideas and "tips and tricks" for dealing with my childhood dream that had slowly and quickly turned itself into what felt like an emotional nightmare. After having a consultation, we finally felt like we had a chance to see some light at the end of the tunnel, and we took it. We decided to put both of our dogs in the 7 week class because we had hoped that it would help to have them do it together; a bonding situation of sorts. And to us, it didn't make sense to put one through the training program and not the other, since my fiancees dog also had things she needed to work out. As long as you, the owner are willing to put in the work with your dog that the program requires outside of the class, the results can be absolutely amazing! That faint flicker of light that we thought we could see at the end of the tunnel turned out to be as glorious as the Norhtern Lights! The owners, Racheal and Dan have been invaluable! Life with my dogs has changed so drastically that it is practically a day and night difference! The girls are basically best friends now! They play together all day every day. obviously all siblings squabble and the dalmatian is a little too much energy from time to time for our pit/ jack russell terrier, but she gets the body language hints now and then goes about her day and lets her rest. Our older dog used to think that walking on a leash was a heavy weight pulling olypmpic sport and would try to pull you like a wagon while she was on a leash- not anymore! Both girls now walk beautifully on a leash. Both dogs have near perfect recall, too! We take both of them on off leash walks/hikes all over the state and their recall remains intact, even in completely new and unfamilair places with all of the greats smells taht the world has to offer! Rachael and Dan have also boarded our furbabies for us while we were on vacation, and as a helicopter mom I felt no stress or anxiety about their well being or behavior while with them! I could go on and on about how amazing Einstein Dog Training is, and the behaviors that they're able to work out and overcome, but I think that best thing I could say about them is that they've brought peace to our world. And they were able to give me my childhood dream back... and she's better than I could have ever imagined! 10/10 would recommend Einstein Dog Training, without hesitation or reservations!

Started out my little fella in puppy training as I had no clue how to train a pup(Shih Tzu). He did great - learned a lot- the basics we still use every day. We are now in adult dog training and we train daily. He is a wonderful dog and pretty well behaved most of the time. He turned 1 this past week so we will continue to work w Einstein until he is a bit older. Rachael was been wonderful in explaining and demonstrating techniques when I have a question. I did not know dogs had an adolescent phase and it has been real interesting but w Einstein’s help we are coming thru it a nicely mannered fella that I can take a lot of places. My friends compliment how well behaved he is and that is the feedback that rings most true. We get invited to folks house, bbq’s, etc. I would strongly recommend Einstein for dog training- but be aware a well mannered dog is your ongoing project- dog training is not a drop off event- it’s a process. If your dog needs some training, I can honestly recommend Einstein. It has made having a dog a pretty great experience in my household.

Want to first say that they are the best. Luna had a lot of reactivity issues, leash walking, and some bad behaviors. She was a rescue with an abusive past I was told. Got in a sticuation almost two years ago and had to find a trainer to see if could get help. I can say I'm blessed to have found Rachel and Dan and the work they do. My dog and me wouldn't be where we are today without them and the help and knowledge they provide. Rachel and Dan go above and beyond for the clients and the dogs. They are helpful with questions and concerns but also teaching you how to help your dog with the issues. They teach u both how to help each other. The group classes are amazing and really do help that they put on. Overall they are amazing, friendly and knowledgeable in the field. They changed our lives in so many ways and continue to be the best support if any concerns or behavior arises and need help. If your looking for dog trainers and think ur dog can't improve please reach out to them because they can change that.
