Do you guys train dogs to become service dog for people with pet and other mental disorders?
Although we do offer training programs for those with health challenges, we are not a certified service dog trainer. Medical providers can typically provide you the best information on resources for service animals.

Do you have age limits for boarding puppies? Thanks.
Hello! We just require that they’re at the age to have received all of their vaccinations required for boarding. We require proof of current DHLPP (Distemper Combination), Bordetella (common name: "Kennel Cough") and Rabies vaccinations. Once the puppy has received this series of shots, we’re happy to board them!

Thanks for asking! Though we do not provide psychiatric training we have performed obedience training for many dogs which “gears them up” for more advanced training like that. If you find a business that will provide that more advanced training, we would be happy to work with them and you to provide the initial obedience training for your dog’s individual needs.

We found Elite Dogs Training and Boarding about four years ago. I enrolled our then 6 month old Belgian Malinois in their 3 week board and train program. Their program made a huge difference and she came home a much more obedient dog. They even offered training in multiple languages. All staff has always been very polite and professional. We always prefer to board our dog here. They’re usually pretty booked, but will offer a waitlist option, which became quite useful this past weekend. Another “competitor” in the area wanted to charge 190$ to watch my dog for ONE night because she requires “special care.” Elite had my dog waitlisted and called to offer a spot last minute for 45$!!! The customer service is unmatched. My dog always comes back happy, healthy and clean and we use them multiple times per year. Highly recommend. I almost didn’t want to leave a review because this place is a true hidden gem in West Sacramento and we need them available quite often haha.

This review is long over due but after struggling to find care for our aggressive dog and having this place constantly come up when searching boarding for him, I had to leave a review.
My dog did a board and train with them a few years ago and all of his issues got worse. Courtney is not a licensed behaviorist. They practice dominance based training which has been proven ineffective. My dog came back with blood shot eyes from pulling during the bath they gave him without our permission (probably so we wouldn’t see that he was covered in feces from how stressed he was there) and bloody paws from what we believe was the training taking place outdoors in the middle of Summer.
We took him back a few times after because finding care for a reactive dog is really hard and there is nothing I regret more. Our final straw was him having bloody diarrhea from how stressed he was there. I would rather not ever take a vacation again than to ever let my dog go back.
Dominance based theory does not work. Courtney is a self proclaimed dog trainer. They use prong collars and will teach your dog how to fear them. Please spare your dog the trip here and save your money to go to an actually licensed behaviorist.
