Empire of the Dog Brooklyn

We've had a couple sessions with Denise, one when we first rescued our dog. She taught us all the essential skills to speak his language. He had some barrier frustration and leash reactivity. Denise taught us how to regulate his energy via mentally stimulating activities such as chews, or even feeding our little genius in puzzle balls or other fillable toys. That immediately chilled out our dog and gave him safe activities to redirect his energies into. As we learned to communicate better with each other, he went from a rascally rescue to a pretty well trained pup! We went back to Denise to start working on some advanced moves in his training such as targeting and higher level free shaping. Pretty soon this little man is gonna be bringing us breakfast in bed! We trust Denise with our dog when we leave town and she always answers our questions about behavior and training (sorry for the novel length emails!) I know we always have somewhere to go for any issues that arise with our dog.

Denise is absolutely FANTASTIC as is her staff. She is the ONLY person I leave my dog with overnight. I went to Denise when Goose was a puppy to get her first training, and then came back to her when she was 6 for behavior modification. In just an hour, she taught me (mostly me, also Goose) skills for modifying her behavior--and I never even had to raise my voice at ALL. Positive reinforcement works when it's done right, and Denise taught me how to give my dog what she needed to feel comfortable and to behave well. I trust her with my dog's life, and I don't say that lightly. Woofs!

Denise was so wonderful in helping us work with our rescue dog, Kate! Kate was super anxious at first and reacted poorly to dogs on leash, but Denise helped us communicate with her and show her how to be a part of our family. Kate is absolutely a different dog today, so confident and spunky! Denise is also very connected to the community so she was able to help us find other resources for Kate such as day care, walkers and boarding. Denise really knows her stuff and is obviously so in love with pups - can't thank her enough!
