I signed my 9 month old Doberman pinscher up for the 2 week board and train after struggling for months with my pups reactivity to dogs, people, cars, the smallest thing you name it she was scared of it, barking at it and lunging at it. The actual process of her being at the board and train went smoothly. I received pictures and videos of my dog almost everyday and had constant communication with my trainer Saheed. Whatever concerns or questions I had I received timely response and felt reassured she was in good hands. Pictures and videos of the training demonstrated supervised engagement with other dogs and training progress. I also appreciated daily messages I received on eating habits and tracked amount of food intake for morning and evenings. The results of the training for my pup are still a work in progress. I definitely saw a difference in my dogs response to commands but there were still some reactiveness to dogs and other distractions that I didn’t think would be as prevalent. Of course the overall confidence of my dog will come with time so I didn’t think this was an issue with the training itself but more of something that would just require constant exposure through group classes, as well growing my confidence as her handler. I also really appreciated the fact about a week into bringing my dog back into her home environment, I was still struggling with certain aspects of the take home process due to my inability to be at the take home appointment and expressed these concerns to the EDA team and my trainer Saheed took separate time to explain the whole process to me and ensure that me and my pup were both communicating efficiently which was both needed and appreciated. There most certainly has been a difference in my pups behavior but at the same time there are still a number of aspects to still work on. In the end, I would not be able to have reached the level of improvement we have gotten to so far without EDA. Overall, the board and train is a constant process and through this entire experience so far EDA has shown that they are here to work with me and my pups ongoing issues and support both of us throughout the journey.
